Xiaomi confirms upcoming Android 10 update for Mi CC9 Pro users in China and gives hope for Mi Note 10 and Mi Note 10 Pro owners stuck on Android 9.0 Pie
It appears owners of the Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro living in China can expect to start receiving an update to Android 10 (promoted as Android Q on Xiaomi’s Weibo account) by mid to late April. It will be a welcome update for Mi CC9 Pro users, who have had to settle for the Android 9.0 Pie build of MIUI 11 since the smartphone’s release in November 2019.
The Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro, which gained fame as the first smartphone to sport a 108 MP primary camera, is sold as the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 or Mi Note 10 Pro in other markets around the globe. Xiaomi’s post specifically mentions the Chinese market only Mi CC9 Pro, but it seems reasonable to believe that an Android 10 variant of MIUI 11 will soon start appearing on Mi Note 10 devices in the near future.
Along with having the latest Android OS, Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro users will also be able to enjoy features such as enhanced fingerprint unlocking, improved camera speeds, and a swifter system performance overall. Apparently, there’s even a new document capture mode being incorporated into the Android 10 update. Hopefully, Xiaomi Mi Note 10 and Note 10 Pro owners will get good news shortly after the mid to late April OS update rollout begins for the Mi CC9 Pro.
