Reports from a few weeks ago claimed that Samsung would finally ditch OLED's made by Samsung Display in favor of ones supplied by Chinese manufacturer BOE. That plan may now be dead in the water, however, as new information claims BOE's OLEDs failed to pass Samsung's quality tests.

It has been reported that the launch of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 will be headed by former Meizu executive Yang Zhe. The Mi Mix 4 has been rumored for a long time and is expected to feature cutting-edge specifications to enable it to take on fierce rivals such as the Huawei P40 series.

Recently, a leak pointing to an upcoming mobile device called the Samsung SM-A013 emerged. Now, the same model number has been spotted on Geekbench 4. Its listing here may reinforce the idea that this is a new variant of the Galaxy A01, and may drop hints as to how it may be even cheaper than the pre-existing super-budget phone.

Motorola has now launched its newest mid-ranger, the Motorola One Fusion+. The One Fusion+ features a quad-rear camera setup, a pop-up selfie camera, a Snapdragon 730, and a massive 5000 mAh battery. It's expected to be priced at €300.

Xiaomi has slashed the prices of three variants of the Redmi K30 Pro as part of the 618 shopping festival in China. New supposed prices for the upcoming Redmi 9 smartphone have been published, and they are very affordable. It is claimed that the cheapest Redmi 9, with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage, will cost just US$139.99. That’s for a 6.53-inch device with a quad-camera setup and an 8-core MediaTek Helio G80 processor.

OPPO has now launched its latest set of sub-premium smartphone: the OPPO Reno4 and Reno4 Pro. The Reno4 starts at just over US$400 and delivers a Snapdragon 765G, five cameras in total, and 65 W charging. The Reno4 Pro is the star, though, as it improves on the camera setup significantly, while adding a 90 Hz display.

The OnePlus 8 Pro has now made the trip over to DxOMark, where it impressed by breaking into the top ten, ahead of the Galaxy S20+ and iPhone 11 Pro Max, but below phones like the Mi 10 Pro and Galaxy S20 Ultra.

Xiaomi has posted a cryptic message on Weibo in regard to the Xiaomi Mi 10 smartphone. The message was in the form of a complex-looking equation, which when solved revealed that the flagship device had been reduced by 300 yuan (US$42). The Xiaomi Mi 10 cost from 3,999 yuan (US$562) when first launched in China.

AnTuTu has revealed its fastest flagship smartphone chart for May and there are three OPPO devices in the top four positions, headed by the OPPO Find X2 Pro. While the Redmi Note 8 Pro received the Android 10 update months ago, the regular Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8T remain stuck on Android Pie, albeit on MIUI 11. A new update is now been sent out to the two phones, but also doesn't bring the much-awaited Android 10.

Rumour has it that the Exynos 992 is headed to the Galaxy Note 20 series and that it will be manufactured on a 5 nm process. Apparently featuring new ARM Cortex-A78 and Mali-G78 cores, the Note 20 has been spotted with a 4,300 mAh battery too.

The upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 SoC will come with ARM's latest Cortex-X1 and Cortex-A78 cores. The chip's configuration will likely consist of a single Cortex-X1 core coupled with three Cortex-A78 cores and four Cortex A-55 cores. The Snapdragon 875 will be unveiled sometime in Q4 2020, and will reportedly make its debut on a Xiaomi phone.

Apple frenemy Samsung has secured the supply of 80 percent of Apple’s iPhone 12 OLED display orders according to Digitimes. The remainder of the OLED panel supplies are said be supplied by both LG and BOE.

The new Mali-G78 mobile GPU is more efficient and provides performance improvements of up to 25 percent compared to its predecessor — Mali-G77, which launched last year as the first Valhall-based mobile GPU. The expected battery capacity for a Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 device has been discovered, and it seems that a potential Galaxy Tab S7+ model will end up with a battery capacity of over 10,000 mAh. This is a huge step-up from the 7,040-mAh capacity of the predecessor Galaxy Tab S6.

The Samsung Galaxy S20 series was launched back in February, and it's now been about three months since the phones hit shelves. Sales numbers are out, and it would seem that the S20 phones have sold considerably less than the S10 series did over the same period last year.
