GTX 1160 existence confirmed by Lenovo and will exist alongside the RTX/GTX 2060

Apparently the 11 series of GeForce GPUs actually do exist, with the 1160 coming soon to a Lenovo laptop. These GPUs will allegedly be based on the current Turing architecture but without RTX support, meaning prices should be much lower than the RTX series.

New leak details full RTX 2060-based card line-up for AORUS and Gigabyte

A Twitter-based leaker claims to have found a Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) certification for the full list of Gigabyte/AORUS graphics cards to incorporate the RTX 2060 GPU. According to this extensive listing, the two brands are making no less than 40 separate SKUs of this line. They range from 3 to 6GB in capacity, are either GDDR5 or GDDR6 and cover many form-factors and editions, from Mini ITX to AORUS Extreme.

The RTX 2070 with Max-Q design is NVIDIA's upcoming mid-range laptop card. It has been spotted in leaked Final Fantasy XV benchmarks. The results (assuming they are genuine) put the new mobile GPU at the top of a list that also includes the GTX 1080 (desktop and Max-Q versions) and the Radeon RX Vega.

NVIDIA rumored to release a non-RTX Turing card in January

A Videocardz correspondent claims to have received tips to the effect that NVIDIA will be bringing out a Turing-based card without ray-tracing capabilities next year. It may be called either the GTX 1160 or GTX 1660 Ti, and may be launched alongside the RTX 2060. This putative card is rumored to incorporate the TU116 GPU.

The results of Titan RTX overclocking and testing have surfaced online

NVIDIA's Titan RTX, the best-spec'd (and most expensive) iteration of Turing architecture out there, has been reportedly overclocked and benchmarked. A Twitter enthusiast has claimed that it achieved just over 41,000 in the graphics portion of 3DMark Fire Strike. However, JayzTwoCents asserts that his own Titan RTX did not break 37,000 in the same sub-test, and that it was not much faster overall than an overclocked RTX 2080 Ti.

A spec sheet of the HP ZHAN 66 Pro 14 G2 has leaked online that lists the notebook sporting an NVIDIA GeForce MX250 GPU with 2 GB GDDR5 VRAM. This is the first listing of the MX250 in the wild and from the information we have, it is just a rebranded MX150 with slightly higher clocks. So, while the RTX 2000 Turing GPUs will be getting mobile versions, NVIDIA could still continue to offer a rebranded Pascal GPU for entry-level notebooks and ultrabooks.

This leaves out those wishing to use the improved CUDA acceleration and other proprietary NVIDIA development tools on macOS Mojave out of luck.

RTX 2060 desktop GPU specifications leak

News and rumor website VideoCardz has reported the existence of the RTX 2060, some of its specifications, and that it will launch soon. With 1920 CUDA cores, the new midrange card could be up to 50% faster than the previous 1060 6 GB. Whether or not the RTX 2060 will support ray tracing and, if so, how fast ray tracing performance will be are both unknown.

Nvidia set to reveal the RTX 2000 mobility lineup at CES 2019

Apparently, Nvidia had to iron out a few problems with the Turing chip production, so the mobility versions needed to be delayed for a few months. The RTX 2000 mobility lineup is now expected to debut at CES 2019, with general availability slated for early February. Inside sources claim there will be 2080, 2070, 2060, 250 Ti and 2050 models, plus Max-Q versions for the top two.

First pictures of the NVIDIA RTX Titan teased by YouTubers and influencers

Several influencers and YouTube personalities were seen teasing the NVIDIA RTX Titan GPUs. We're not sure what the new Titan card will be officially called as but from the pictures posted, we see a blue TITAN logo, two 8-pin power connectors, and an NVLink connector. The card seems to be sporting a golden shroud similar to the earlier Titan V card and is expected to feature a full Turing TU102 GPU with 4,608 CUDA Cores.

Desktop AIB GPU sales took a 16% y-o-y dive in Q3 2018, with 19.2% decrease over Q2 2018

Jon Peddie Research informs that the GPU market is doing relatively well, even though the AIB GPU sales saw a significant decline. The overall GPU sales (including iGPUs and mobility GPUs) were up 10.64% compared to Q2 2018, and Intel is still dominating the iGPU/embedded GPU maret with an increase of ~13%.

Nvidia announces DGX-2H compute server with upgraded Tesla V100 GPUs

The compute-oriented DGX-2 server launched in early 2018 is getting an upgrade consisting of more powerful Xeon CPUs and higher-clocked Tesla V100 GPUs. The Tesla V100 cards come with a total of 512 GB of HBM2 memory and are interconnected through special NVLinks, allowing them to act as a single GPU with a massive throughput of 2.1 PetaFLOPS.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 spotted in Final Fantasy XV Benchmarks, shows a 30% performance increase from the GTX 1060

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 has made an appearance in the Final Fantasy XV benchmarks. This is probably the first sighting of the card in the wild and according to this benchmark, the RTX 2060 seems to perform somewhere between the GTX 1060 6 GB and the GTX 1070 inline with expected generation-to-generation improvements.

The recent 'crypto crash' may have resulted in a large-scale dumping of slightly older cards onto sites like eBay. Consequently, this may drive down the prices others with the same GPUs (e.g. gamers) can ask for their listings. In addition, this is the season to grab cash for upgrades.

It looks like some media outlets have a bone to pick with Nvidia, blowing things out of proportion where it really is not the case. Yes, there are faulty RTX 2080 Ti cards out there and Nvidia admitted some cards did not go through the QA process, but the cards are out of stock now not because Nvidia was forced to delist them for too many manufacturing faults. The green team simply did not expect the demand for these cards to be so great.

Nvidia stock plummets 20% after disappointing Q3 earnings report and Q4 guidance

On Thursday, Nvidia released its Q3 earnings report, and as a result stocks plummeted nearly 20% thanks mainly to Nvidia's Q4 guidance, which were $700 million below the expectations of third party analysts who predicted Nvidia would achieve $3.4 billion in revenue. Nvidia claims the lack of crypto demand and surplus of Pascal supply are to blame.

NVIDIA admits a few early RTX 2080 Ti Founders Edition cards managed to escape QA

NVIDIA seems to have finally acknowledged that some of its GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Founders Edition cards seem to have missed testing during QA and that could have been the reason for the increasing number of complaints about faulty cards causing all sorts of problems. Those affected can directly contact NVIDIA Support to get their issue resolved at the earliest.
