Today (August 13, 2020), Mobvoi launched its latest Earbud Gesture product on the crowdfunding platform Indiegogo. The OEM was able to score its goal twice over within the first hour of this project going live. The TWS devices in question are rated for up to 50 hours of battery life with their case.

Recently, a leaker claimed to have spoiled the line-up of Apple's upcoming launch event, to be held online this year. It was to have introduced various products, the new iPhones and Watch included, in a specific order. Now, another tipster asserts this is not the case at all and that some new devices will not get to debut on stage at all.

The Mudra Band is not an ordinary third-party strap for the Apple Watch. Wearable Devices Ltd claims to have brought gesture controls to the popular smartwatch by way of interpreting nerve signals. The Mudra Band communicates via Bluetooth and is currently available to order for US$159. The project has raised over US$170,000 in crowdfunding so far, too.

A leak has revealed Huawei's plans to release a smartwatch called the Watch Fit. Branded as the HUAWEI Watch FIT, the device will feature a 1.64-inch AMOLED panel, a host of sensors and 5 ATM water resistance. The Watch Fit will retail for €119 and will be available from September in four colours.

Samsung's latest smartwatch reportedly already has a firmware update. The new download confers blood-oxygen measurements as well as the ability to track maximal oxygen uptake (or VO2Max). Oppo has released an animated trailer for a Wear OS device that will reportedly launch worldwide on July 31, 2020. Belkin has debuted BoostCharge wireless charging accessories that support the iPhone, Apple Watch or AirPods, or, in some cases, all three at once. One of these can also become a power bank at need. They start at US$49.95 on the OEM's website at present.

The first review of sorts for the Mi Smart Band 5 is up and it confirms a heap of information about Xiaomi's upcoming fitness tracker. As feared, the device will not support Amazon Alexa integration, NFC or a SpO2 sensor. XDA’s Max Weinbach has more bad news for Samsung fans groaning at the possibility the new Galaxy Note 20 could be lumped with the Exynos 990. Now Weinbach says that Samsung’s Galaxy Fold 2 will be a no show at the upcoming August 5 Galaxy Unpacked Event as had been expected.

Xiaomi has been celebrating again, this time in regard to its wearables division. The Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 4 (Mi Band 4) has been crowned the best-selling wearable band in the world. The Mi Band 5 has been selling out constantly as well, although stories of success for the Mi Band range are nothing new.

Leaked marketing renders of the Galaxy Watch Active 3 seemingly put the upcoming smartwatch on a collision course with a July 22 launch date, two weeks ahead of Samsung's next Galaxy Unpacked event on August 5. Now, a rumour has emerged that the Galaxy Tab S7 and Galaxy Tab S7 Plus will also be arriving on July 22 alongside the Galaxy Watch Active 3.

A couple of leaked images of the upcoming Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 5 global activity tracker have offered up some clues of what a Pro model of the wearable could deliver. According to the poster of the images, the global Mi Smart Band 5 does not feature NFC functionality, Alexa assistant, or the SpO2 pulse oximeter sensor for blood oxygen monitoring.

A promo video for the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 has been leaked at the same time as some live images of the upcoming smartwatch were revealed via NCC certification. The video clip for the Galaxy Watch 3 focuses more on the software functions of the wearable rather than its overall physical appearance.
