The Huawei Watch FIT, GT 2 and GT 2 Pro receive new features and optimisations with their latest software updates
Huawei may have released the Watch 3 and Watch 3 Pro, but the company has not forgotten about its other smartwatches. While it is unclear if the Watch FIT, Watch GT 2 and Watch GT 2 Pro will receive HarmonyOS 2.0, Huawei continues to add more features to them.
By far, the most significant update of the three is for the Watch FIT. According to Huawei Central, firmware version 1.0.5.12 introduces several changes, including the ability to send pre-determined SMS replies and the option for rejecting phone calls from the smartwatch. Additionally, the Watch FIT can now be secured by a PIN, while its voice assistant integration should now work more reliably after the update.
By contrast, version 11.0.5.32 only improves lock screen behaviour on the Watch GT 2 Pro and optimises system performance. Huawei has not specified what changes the company has made to achieve these optimisations, though.
Similarly, the Watch GT 2 has only received system stability optimisations this month. However, if you have not installed 1.0.12.20, then 1.0.12.58 will also add an improved weather app and several watch faces for use with a paired iPhone. All update packages are available to download through the Huawei Health app.
