TAG Heuer announces a new Super Mario Limited Edition of its luxury Connected smartwatch

The third-gen Connected smartwatch comes with the premium TAG Heuer branding slapped onto it, and the reputation for quality and luxury that goes along with that. However, if that is not compelling and exciting enough for certain consumers, the new Limited Edition of this wearable might grab them instead.

This "Connected x Super Mario" variant matches up to that description quite well enough, as its case includes on-theme tweaks such as a chronograph on which a flag chevron, a Mushroom, a pipe-top and a Super Star replace the 12, 3, 6 and 9 positions respectively, and might even be programmed to glow under certain conditions.

Similarly, the Connected x Super Mario's crown sports the appropriate "M" logo. It also comes in a special box along with a choice of 2 themed bands. The Snapdragon Wear 3100-powered, sapphire crystal-protected watch still runs Wear OS, albeit heavily skinned so as to stay in line with the theme.

This involves Super Mario watchfaces that might be dynamic in some cases (although they might also be released as options to 'plain' Connected variants in the future). This package will not come cheap, however, at US$2,150 (even before tax), as opposed to the $1,800 of the original. 

The very sincere (and minted) fan required to buy this ultra-pricey smartwatch can order one from July 15, 2021. However, they might just have to move fast as TAG Heuer has announced it will release just 2,000 units of this special-edition wearable worldwide.
