When it comes to smartwatches, TAG Heuer is not the first name that comes in my mind, but last year's Connected Modular 45 turned out to be one of the best such devices to hit the market. Sadly, its price tag kept many potential customers at bay. Now, the time has come for a slightly smaller version, just as promised. The new TAG Heuer Connected Modular 41 is not only of a different size but comes with a few hardware changes under the hood as well.
Just like its predecessor, the TAG Heuer Connected Modular 41 is the result of a collaboration with both Intel and Google. Its AMOLED display now features a maximum brightness of 350 nits and has a resolution of 390 x 390 pixels that provides a screen density of 326 ppi. The memory has been pushed up from 512 MB to 1 GB, and its internal storage value climbed up to 8 GB from the 4 GB of the Connected Modular 45.
Those who do not need the smartwatch capabilities at some point can simply replace the Connected core with the Calibre 5 mechanical module. Sadly, the price of the TAG Heuer Connected Modular 41 starts at US$1,200 and can hit US$17,000 depending on the options chosen.
At last, we should also mention the TAG Heuer Connected Modular 45 Full Diamond that has just been unveiled at the Geneva Days 2018 event and features a polished white gold case with no less than 589 VV baguette size diamonds. Until the end of the week, TAG Heuer's products can be found on display in a boat moored in front of Beau-Rivage Palace at Geneva – Rotonde des Pâquis, Quai du Mont Blanc 10.
