Comet Lake-H and RTX 20 SUPER laptops will be coming to market later this year. (Image source: NVIDIA)The Comet Lake-H (CML-H) series will be arriving in laptops later this year, likely with a choice between several new RTX 20 SUPER series GPUs. A CML-H processor and an RTX 20 SUPER GPU will undoubtedly be a powerful combination, as a recent 3DMark listing has demonstrated. Spotted by @_rogame, a Core i9-10880H and GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER-powered machine has made its way onto the popular benchmarking website, giving us an idea of what the chips will be capable. Firstly, the listing reports that the Core i9-10880H has a 2.3 GHz base clock, the same as the Core i9-9880H. However, Intel is allowing the former to reach 5.0 GHz according to 3DMark, a 200 MHz boost over the Core i9-9880H. Meanwhile, the listing states that the RTX 2070 SUPER can operate at between 1,140 MHz and 1,750 MHz. On the one hand, this would mean that the GPU has a lower base clock than its predecessor. On the other hand, the RTX 2070 SUPER peaks at 310 MHz higher than the RTX 2070 does. The RTX 2070 SUPER still has 8 GB of GDDR6 VRAM running at 14 Gbps, though. @_rogame claims that the unnamed laptop scored 8,337 points in Time Spy, 20,760 points in Fire Strike and 27,765 points in 3DMark 11 Performance. For context, this puts the device within striking distance of the Core i9-9980HK and RTX 2080 Max-Q powered Alienware m17 R2 that we reviewed last month. The results put the RTX 2070 SUPER well ahead of the average of RTX 2070-powered laptops that we have reviewed, too. Getting the most from a 45 W CPU and a 115 W GPU will require a big cooling system, though. Hence, while we may see the RTX 2070 SUPER in 15.6-inch machines later this year, do not be surprised to see the GPU and Core i9 CML-H CPUs restricted to 17-inch machines, instead.

Unnamed laptop appears on 3DMark with a 5 GHz Intel Core i9-10880H and a 115 W NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER

Boasting a boost clock of 5 GHz, 8 cores and a 45 W TDP, the Core i9-10880H is a powerful chip in its own right. Pairing it with the upcoming mobile version of the RTX 2070 SUPER, a GPU with a 1,140 MHz base clock and 8 GB of 14 G...
