We are different. With the recent NSA surveillance affair, many users are concerned about their data on smartphones and tablets. One possible solution: Operating systems from independent developers. Honor and valor. Huawei's trendy subsidiary launches its presently most expensive model on the market dubbed Honor 6: A 5-inch smartphone for around 300 Euros (~$319). Read in this report whether the Chinese manufacturer will rock the mid-range with it.

Big and powerful. iOcean proves that you don't have to spend $500 on a high-end smartphone. The M6752 carries a 5.5-inch 1080p display with 3 GB RAM, 4G compatibility, and a sandstone back cover to boot. For about $200, this is an inexpensive media powerhouse.

A bit of business. Samsung wants to participate more strongly in the business field with its Galaxy Tab Active. The tablet is not only dust and waterproof, but it also protected against drops. It might just be an interesting alternative for field workers with LTE and stylus inputting.

A Veryhot deal? San Diego-based company offers a small range of affordable smartphones that should satisfy casual users on the go. The s5511 is a good alternative to mainstream brands and even offers one of the brightest displays on the market.
