Banana Pi has introduced the BPI-Leaf-S3, a 65.25 x 26 mm device powered by the Espressif Systems ESP32-S3. Available for US$7.50, the Banana Pi BPI-Leaf-S3 also has 8 MB of flash storage, 2 MB of SPRAM, Wi-Fi 4 connectivity and dual 22-pin headers, among other features.

Conflicting reports on what chipsets the Galaxy S23 series will be equipped with have surfaced in recent months. According to the latest, from Ming-Chi Kuo, Samsung looks set to abandon the Exynos 2300 entirely next year in favor of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

ARM has unveiled its flagship gaming GPU, the Immortalis-G715. The Immortalis-G715 is the first ARM GPU to support hardware-accelerated ray tracing via a dedicated ray tracing unit and can scale up to 16 cores. It also supports variable rate shading, and ARM's suite of compression technologies. Alongside the Immortalis-G715, ARM also unveiled the Mali-G715 and Mali-G615 for the premium smartphone segment.

The first MacBook with Apple's new M2 SoC is the familiar MacBook Pro 13. It uses a cooling solution with a fan, but it still cannot handle the full performance of the Apple M2 for more than a couple of seconds. This worries us a bit when we think about the upcoming MacBook Air M2 redesign, which once again features a passive cooling solution.

The ARM-based Lenovo ThinkPad X13s is finally available for purchase, but the Windows laptop with a Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 processor has not managed to catch up with Apple in terms of Geekbench performance. The results for the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 are not only well behind those of the Apple M2, but they also lag behind the M1 SoC from 2020.

The Xiaomi 12 Ultra is all but confirmed to make its debut next month. Apparently, though, the flagship will not arrive alone but will be joined by at least two other premium phones: the Xiaomi 12S and Xiaomi 12S Pro.

The new Apple M2 SoC has made its first appearance on both GFXBench and Cinebench, and its GPU part seemingly performed way above expectations on the former benchmark. The Apple M2 managed a +45.47% performance leap over the M1 in GFXBench’s Aztec Ruins Normal Tier Offscreen test, soundly overtaking Apple’s own +35% GPU performance claim.

Apple now offers its own M1 Max processors both in laptops as well as desktops, so some users might be interested in the differences. After we reviewed the new Mac Studio, we can say there are not that many and the MacBook Pro 16 is probably the better choice for most users.

Even though the single-core gains are modest, the M2 still beats the M1 Pro and the i7-12800H. On the multi-core side, the M2 is 16% faster than the M1, but what really impresses is the 67% improvement in the graphics department.

A new entry in the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 3 series has surfaced online. Known as the Compute Module 3E or the RPI-CM3E-R1, the system-on-module (SoM) features the chipset from the Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W and is already shipping in some devices.
