Leak reveals Xiaomi 14 series and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 launch info

According to recent reports, Qualcomm's next-gen flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is set to debut earlier than usual. A new leak from another source has now provided a more defined timeframe for the release of the SoC, along with word on Xiaomi's next-gen flagship lineup, the Xiaomi 14 series.

As revealed by WhyLab, Qualcomm is geared to debut the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in October. Prior rumors claimed the chipset could debut a few weeks earlier than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 did last year—in mid-November—and this corroborates those reports. This has little to no tangible meaning on the industry, of course, but likely means Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 phones may start launching earlier this year as well.

Supposedly, the Xiaomi 14 series will be one of those. The same source purports the next-gen Xiaomi flagship phones will launch earlier than their predecessors did. The Xiaomi 13 series was initially scheduled to launch on December 1 in China, but had to be postponed till December 11, likely due to the death of Chinese elder statesman Jiang Zemin. That considered, there's a chance the Xiaomi 14 series launches in China sometime in November.
