A real EliteBook? HP introduced the Elite Dragonfly as a convertible with a weight of under 1 kg (~2.2 pounds). But is the light business convertible really a full-fledged EliteBook, or is it a reduced version that is primarily supposed to look good on a desk? We review the premium convertible with the bigger 4-cell battery, which increases the weight to more than 1.1 kg (~2.4 pounds).

Potent convertible. The Asus convertible shines with powerful hardware, a sleek metal case, a backlit keyboard, good battery life and a Pantone-validated 4K touchscreen display. For the latter, users have the choice between using their fingers or the included Active Pen for inputs.

Affordable without feeling cheap. The Yoga C740 offers a lot on all fronts relative to the sub $1000 asking price. Cut corners have been carefully executed to make the system feel as close as possible to the pricier flagship Lenovo Yoga C940.

Graphics boost. The Surface Pro 7 features the best of what Microsoft has to offer. However, the Core i7 CPU might not be worth its price premium under all circumstances. In this particular case more CPU power also means more GPU power.

Versatile. The HP Pavilion x360 14-dh1153ng attracts attention with its Comet Lake processor, Intel Optane storage and a backlit keyboard. The IPS touchscreen display can also be used with an HP Pen (1MR94AA, not included in scope of delivery).

Way overpriced at $1000. The Pavilion series is supposed to be HP's entry-level lineup of affordable laptops. This particular configuration, however, is egregiously bad because its high asking price does not reflect the low-end 768p touchscreen.
