Asus' Intel 11th-gen Core-based notebook line-up contains a ZenBook Flip S, for the first time in quite a while. This new variant (the UX371) features the new OLED NanoEdge PANTONE-validated panel as many of its new siblings. Dynabook launched two laptops today. The Portégé X30W-J and Portégé X30L-J are Tiger Lake laptops with Intel's Iris Xe Graphics. Both laptops weigh less than one kilogram (2.2. pounds) and are equipped with two Thunderbolt 4 ports.

Asus has refreshed its VivoBook line of notebooks with Intel Tiger Lake CPUs and Xe graphics cards. The VivoBook 14 and 15 get Wi-FI 6 compatibility and the ZenBooks' Numpad functionality. Asus says that it will reveal the notebooks' price and availability at a later date.

The ZenBook Flip 13 is now configurable with the Intel Core i5-1035G1 and Core i7-1065G7 Ice Lake CPUs. It can be paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of solid-state storage. Prices start at US$899 for the base version. Both notebooks will be available for purchase in the United States on September 16.

HP has done a great job with the Spectre x360 13, but give the 1080p Sure View display a wide berth. With poor viewing angles and image quality even with Sure View switched off, we cannot fathom why HP does not offer a regular 1080p display in the UK.

Microsoft has confirmed, albeit indirectly, that its eagerly anticipated dual-screen Surface Neo has been delayed. Following a blog post that indicated Windows 10X would debut first on single-screen devices, it became clear that plans for Windows 10X for dual-screen devices would be pushed back. With the Galaxy Book Flex 13.3, Samsung has an extremely attractive Windows convertible in its range. Minor inconsistencies cloud the otherwise good overall impression a bit, though.

The 5th generation of the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga laptop series offers new Comet Lake U processors, Wi-Fi 6 and brighter displays. With a price tag of 2300 Euros, the convertible is no bargain, but offers a well-rounded packages.

Adobe's Premiere Pro 14.2 update added hardware-accelerated encoding support for AMD GPUs. The latest report from Gartner on the PC market shows that it had grown by 2.8% in the second quarter of 2020 (2Q2020). This may not sound like a lot, but is more encouraging in light of 1Q2020's -12.3% performance. Regardless how well or badly the manufacturers of tablets and convertibles design their screens, most of them keep the glass surface, which is very reflective and not always suitable in everyday usage.
