Workhorse for rough jobs. The CAT S40 is a ruggedized smartphone that combines a very bright IPS screen and long battery life in a robust exterior. However, the hardware could have been more powerful. It is powered by a Qualcomm entry-level quad-band SoC and 16 GB of storage. Nevertheless, the latest Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system and penta-band LTE are on board.

Double pack. The dual-colored HTC Desire 626G Dual SIM has two SIM slots and a high performance octa-core SoC from Mediatek that clocks at 1.7 GHz. The street price of approximately 230 Euros (~$250) also includes a bright 5-inch HD screen, UMTS, and a high-resolution camera module. 8 GB of internal storage and 1 GB of RAM rounds off the bundle.

Are two better than one? The key feature of the Honor 6+ is the dual-camera of the smartphone. HTC tried this in the past as well and failed miserably, but the Chinese do a better job. The 6+ also convinces with a good set of features as well as great battery runtimes.

I'd love to be a flagship. LG shrinks its LG G4 to 5-inches and an RRP of 279 Euros (~$306). The new G4c model sports a quad-core SoC from Qualcomm, 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB internal storage, NFC, and LTE Cat. 4. Android 5.0.2 Lollipop is preloaded. The downgrade results in a good smartphone that will, however, always be in its big brother's shade.

Lite-product? Shortly after the flagship device from Huawei, the P8, we now get the smaller sibling with the addition "lite," which sounds like a slimmed-down version. Hot diver. Sony refreshes its waterproof and dust-resistant smartphone series Xperia M Aqua. The Xperia M4 Aqua can convince us in many respects, including the bright 5-inch IPS display with the HD resolution, a fast octa-core SoC from Qualcomm as well as 2 GB RAM. However, there are also some issues.

Facelift with small flaws. The successor of the Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet, the thinnest and lightest 10-inch tablet, has the designation...Z4 Tablet - logical. Just as logical are the updated internals, the slightly reworked chassis and the improved display. This sums it up pretty nicely. But: The Snapdragon 810 (also) causes some problems in the latest Sony flagship device.
