The latest Chrome OS update source code mentions the existence of Ryzen 7 3700C and Ryzen 3500C CPUs that appear to be derived from the Zen+ desktop-grade CPUs. Additionally, the code also includes references for Athlon Silver 3050C, Athlon Gold 3150C and Ryzen 3 3250C APUs that include Vega iGPUs.

The new Zbox Pro CA622 nano is an industrial-grade embedded mini PC with a fanless case. This barebones solution includes a Ryzen R1505G dual-core CPU with 15 W TDP and support for up to 32 GB of RAM. There also is a more expensive QC7T3000 version with an actively cooled case integrating an Intel Core i7-9750H and a professional Quadro RTX 3000 GPU.

The all-AMD affair of the Ryzen 7 3750H and Radeon RX 5500M certainly provides a powerful base on which to play the latest triple-A games, but the MSI Alpha 15 falls short of expectations in other areas. The device not only runs loudly but it also has incredibly short battery life. If you can survive 36 dB(A) fans when idling and around 4 hours battery life between charges, then the MSI Alpha 15 is a good option for those after a mid-range gaming laptop.

AMD is set to take the fight to NVIDIA later this year with Big Navi, a set of GPUs that will propel it into 4K and UHD high-end gaming. Following the leak of the AMD MI100 yesterday, TechPowerUp has now gotten its hands on the BIOS of AMD's first post-Navi GPU. Do not get your hopes up for it being a consumer card, though.

A leaked Geekbench listing for Intel's upcoming Ice Lake server parts shows massive performance gains. The 12-core Ice Lake server ES delivers nearly the same multithreaded performance as a 24-core Cascade Lake part.

AMD’s Ryzen 7 4800HS APU has been spotted on the Time Spy benchmark, where it performed remarkably well judging on the reported score. Surprisingly, the chip with a 35 W TDP managed to overtake the 45 W Ryzen 7 4800H, which will undoubtedly delight future gaming-laptop buyers. A retailer has posted preliminary listings for some upcoming Asus laptops. They do not contain product images, however, based on their model numbers and listed specs, they are clearly destined for the high-end gaming markets. For example, one of them appears to be for a Ryzen 9 4900H-powered Zephyrus G14.

System76 has added the AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3990X in the list of configurable options for its Thelio Major desktop. Leaked GPU and HBM clocks for the Radeon Instinct MI100 paint a grim picture: AMD's upcoming HPC contender will likely be slower than Nvidia's existing HPC parts. With Ampere arriving in a few months, the MI100 may be dead on arrival.

The Phantom Gaming Edition of GeIL's EVO SPEAR long-form-factor DDR4 memory kits is now available on Newegg. This RAM has been developed in partnership with ASRock, and has variants specifically optimized for Ryzen-compatible boards. It has speeds from 2400 to 3200MHz, and comes in 16 or 32GB SKUs.

The AMD chips appear to be dominating the Intel and Nvidia counterparts when it comes to 3DMark's separate tests. Still, the Intel + Nvidia setup leads in the combined tests, showing that AMD might want to further optimize its chips for combo loads.

Thought you knew what AMD was planning for its Renoir processors? Better known as the Ryzen 4000 series, AMD has already confirmed Ryzen 3, Ryzen 5 and Ryzen 7 4000U SKUs. However, there is now evidence of there being a Ryzen 9 chip, specifically the Ryzen 9 4900U. A mere typo, perhaps? Well, that seems unlikely too.

A Geekbench listing of the AMD Ryzen 5 4500U running on an Acer Swift 3 laptop has surfaced. The Ryzen 5 4500U shows good gains when compared to the Core i5-10210U in the Dell XPS 13 7390. While not on par with the Core i7-9750H in the XPS 15 7590, the Ryzen 5 4500U does bring in a significant gen-on-gen performance bump.

While the AMD Ryzen 9 3900X might not be a pure 1:1 competitor for the Intel i9-10900K, their similar price tier is quite enough to prompt a comparison in this case. The most important difference between the two CPUs is the core count and the boost clocks, and the latter is supposed to have a greater impact on the scores, but this is not particularly evident in the latest 3DMark scores.

AMD informed the world at CES 2020 that the Radeon RX 5700M and RX 5600M would be arriving in laptops in 1H 2020, but offered nothing in the way of other details about its flagship laptop GPUs. Now, the company has confirmed that both will feature 2,304 stream processors, 36 compute units and GDDR6 VRAM. There is a caveat with the latter though, and it could hand an advantage to NVIDIA. In short, AMD could have blown it with the Radeon RX 5700M and RX 5600M before they even come to market.

Fancy a new graphics card? Well, AMD is looking to tempt people in with up to three games and 3 months of Xbox Game Pass for PC with Radeon RX 5000 series purchases. The RX 5500 XT, RX 5700 and RX 5700 XT are included in the offer, as are older cards like the Radeon VII, along with the RX 500 and RX Vega series.

According to a 3DMark page leaked by tipster @TUM_APISAK, Intel may be prepping a 6-core, 8-thread i5-10500H to take on AMD’s Renoir Ryzen 4000 competition in the notebook space.

An engineering sample of an AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3990X has turned up on UserBenchmark and offered up huge scores that still have room for improvement. The 64-core part was a component in a system that also featured the Prime TRX40-Pro motherboard from Asus and Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 2080 Ti. Unsurprisingly, the measured 64-core score was massive.

Laptops powered by the Zen+ Ryzen 7 3700U are starting to get a lot cheaper to make room for the next generation. These AMD laptops are able to offer comparable CPU performance to the Core i7-8550U or Core i7-8565U commonly found on high-end Ultrabooks like the Dell XPS 13, HP Spectre 13, or the Lenovo Yoga series.

2019 brought the highest revenues in six years for AMD and the red team expects increased 7 nm CPU adoption for 2020 together with increased demand for custom embedded solutions via the release of the next gen consoles. CEO Lisa Su confirmed that the RDNA architecture is getting a refresh and the second half of 2020 should also bring new data center GPUs.

The official AMD site does not provide exact specs for the new Pro 500 chipsets, but it looks like Lenovo already plans to release some IdeaCentre ThinkCentre models that integrate a Pro 560 chipset. According to the Lenovo spec sheet, the Pro 560 chipset appears to support up to 32 GB DDR4-2666 RAM and is only compatible with the PCIe 3.0 standard.

Corsair has revealed a couple of new AMD-powered gaming PCs to its lineup. The Vengeance 6180 and Vengeance 6182 both feature a Ryzen 3000 series CPU in the form of the 8-core Ryzen 7 3700X while graphics processing is carried out by the Navi-based Radeon RX 5700 XT GPU. Naturally, there are more RGB lighting options than you could shake a stick at.

In the wake of AMD’s RTX 5600 XT launch, Nvidia instituted a heavy RTX 2060 price-cut, bringing 2060 prices down to $299. The RTX 2060, the cheapest RTX part, now offers viable competition to the 5600 XT. How exactly did Nvidia manage this? An AMD Ryzen 7 4700U running on a Lenovo laptop has recently surfaced on Geekbench. A noted data miner has dug out an impressive result for AMD’s Ryzen 7 4800H in 3DMark’s Time Spy benchmark. The Ryzen 4000 series chip from the new Renoir family of APUs amassed a total of 8,350 points in the test, putting it ahead of potential competitors such as Intel’s Core i7-9700K, which managed 8,209 points in the same benchmark.

ASUS ROG is bringing a Ryzen 5 4600HS version of the Zephyrus G14 to market, the company has confirmed. The hexacore Renoir chip will come with up to 16 GB of DDR4-3200 RAM, an RTX 2060 Max-Q GPU and a 1 TB PCIe SSD. ASUS ROG will offer 120 Hz and 1080p or 60 Hz and 1440p panels with the device, too.

The console prototype pictures appear to be legitimate, as the serial number on the back of the console was already claimed by a twitter user. Apart from the usual connectors, there also is a debug slot for gaming developers. As for the PCIe 4.0 SSD, it looks like Microsoft opted for the E19T controller that is just a bit faster than the current top PCIe 3.0 models.

The RX 5600 XT has been well received so far, but a new rumour claims that AMD has 80 CU and beyond GPUs planned for this year. The lower-end model in what will supposedly be called the RX 6000 series will target the RTX 2080 Ti too, as AMD attempts to regain ground on NVIDIA's stranglehold of the high-end consumer GPU market.

AMD and NVIDIA are locked in a battle for the midrange currently, with both manufacturers pulling moves to make their cards look more attractive. First we had NVIDIA, which cut the RTX 2060 by US$50, and now AMD has reportedly pushed out new firmware to AIBs to tweak their editions of the RX 5600 XT. The enhancements promise to bring up to 15% better performance and put the RX 5600 XT within spitting distance of the RX 5700.

The AMD Ryzen 4000 Renoir APUs have a reduced number of compute units (CUs) compared to Raven Ridge, but improvements to the architecture means that they can offer higher clocks and a 59% higher performance per CU. AMD plans to eventually transition these improvements into upcoming Navi generations for laptops.

Google is working on bringing support for Steam to its Chrome OS, reports Android Police. The platform would run on inside Linux on Chrome, which is already backed into Google’s lightweight browser-based operating system.

If you thought that 2019 was good for graphics cards and gamers, then think again. 2020 is already shaping up to be even better than last year, with not only new consoles and RTX 3000 around the corner, but also RDNA 2. AMD's next GPU architecture will sport huge improvements over the likes of the RX 5700 series, while the work that has gone into may help the PlayStation 5 too.

Is NVIDIA worried about AMD's RX product stack? Well, its latest round of price cuts would suggest so. The company has unexpectedly dropped the RTX 2060 Founders Edition from US$349, conveniently just ahead of the release of the RX 5600 XT.

AMD has just announced the release of the latest version of Radeon Software Adrenalin 2020 Edition (20.1.2). It confers support for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, as well as Vulkan 1.2. It also fixes a problem for some UE4-based games in which they could not load under its predecessor.

The mid-range ProBook series will be refreshed with AMD's latest Ryzen 4000 U-series APUs for SMBs. HP is promising BIOS-level security features including Sure Start and Sure Sense to make up for the fact that there are not yet 3rd gen AMD Ryzen PRO processors for mobile yet.

Reports coming from Taiwan and China reveal that AMD will collaborate with ASMedia in order to produce all upcoming motherboard chipsets, including the more affordable B550 and A520 for Ryzen 3000 desktop CPUs, as well as the upcoming 600-series chipset for the Ryzen 4000 desktop CPUs that are scheduled to be launched in 2H 2020.

Even though the new Ryzen 4000 APUs do not integrate Navi iGPUs, the performance gains are quite substantial, at least when compared to the previous generation. According to the latest UserBenchmark tests, the new 7 nm Vega compute units should be 34% faster than similarly clocked Intel Iris Plus iGPUs, while 3DMark 11 reports that AMD's gains are only around 10%.

Excited by the prospect of a high-end Navi GPU or two? Well, AMD's partners are seemingly prepping themselves for some new product releases too, with one filing trademarks for four unreleased Navi SKUs at the EEC. We discuss whether this new finding means anything or not, as the case may be.
