Apple is planning to equip its first ARM-powered MacBook with an A14X Bionic, according to a new rumour. The in-house chipset will be paired with up to 16 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD, along with a 720p webcam and a 4th generation butterfly keyboard. Between 15 and 20 hours of battery life beckons for the new 12-inch MacBook, too.

Apple announced a pandemic busting Q3 2020 result today, but also getting headlines is that its iPhone 12 launch is officially delayed. During the earnings call, Apple CFO Luca Maestri also confirmed rumors that Apple’s new iPhones will ship later than usual this year because of global disruptions.

Images and specs for the Redmi K30 Ultra have been shared online, with the upcoming device featuring a MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ chip and up to 12 GB RAM. Apparently, Redmi will also be launching its first smartwatch soon, possibly in August, with some speculating that it will simply be a scaled-down version of the Xiaomi Mi Watch.

The Poco F1 was expected to receive its first taste of MIUI 12 in July but that doesn't appear to be feasible anymore with reports claiming the beta update has now been postponed. The new established timeline will see Poco F1 owners receive the stable update in late August.

Huawei has officially launched its new TalkBand B6 fitness tracker and Bluetooth headset combination wearable. Three editions of the Huawei TalkBand B6 have been released, with prices starting at 999 yuan (US$143). The versatile gadget comes with a blood oxygen monitor, Kirin A1 chip, Bluetooth 5.2, and heart-rate monitor.

Qualcomm has announced that its third fiscal quarter of 2020 (3FQ2020, which ended on June 28 of this year) ended with a total of US$4.89 billion in revenue. It also reported $848 million in pre-tax profits, and paying $0.74 per share in dividends. However, it also already projects that, thanks to a new deal with Huawei, 4FQ2020 will turn out much better.

Xiaomi is introducing another color for its highly popular Mi 10 smartphone. The new finish can be translated as “elegant grey”, although it could also be classed as titanium. The elegant grey Xiaomi Mi 10 will be made available to buyers in China from July 31 and will be priced from 3,799 yuan (US$542).

After sending out MIUI 12 beta updates to the Redmi Note 7 Pro in China, Xiaomi has now set its sights towards India—the only other region where the phone was sold. Yes, the MIUI 12 update is now rolling out to the Redmi Note 7 Pro in India.

Samsung's 5 nm Exynos 1000 SoC may be limited to just the Galaxy S21 Ultra next year with the base Galaxy S21 set to feature the Exynos 992, according to a new leak. The company may avoid the Snapdragon 875 chips in order to save costs. The leak also suggests that Samsung may look into changing the "Exynos" branding as well.

After sending out a MIUI 12 update to the Redmi Note 9 in China last week, Xiaomi is finally delivering the update to global users. Hence begins the MIUI 12 global beta stable rollout for the Helio G85-powered Redmi Note 9, and the update weighs in at just over 500 MB.

For some reason, Huawei has suddenly started selling its phones for cheaper in China. The company is currently discounting most of its current lineup—including the P40 Pro Plus—by up to US$150. This also means the P30 Pro can now be had for under US$500.

The mysterious Xiaomi Redmi K30 Ultra smartphone has turned up again, this time in a series of images from the TENAA agency. The phone, which is possibly codenamed “cezanne” and also once rumored to be a Redmi K40 device, still hasn’t been officially named by Xiaomi. The Redmi K30 Ultra may feature a MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ chipset.

MediaTek has released a new 5G-ready SoC called the Dimensity 720. It consists of two Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.0GHz, six Cortex-A55 cores and an ARM Mali-G57 GPU. The chip supports two carrier aggregation and sub-6GHz 5G networks. We can expect to see it debut alongside some mid-rangers later this year.

A potential Poco C3 smartphone has been spotted in Bluetooth certification. The model number offered in the documents gives the impression the Poco C3 will be, unsurprisingly, a rebranded Redmi device, which in this case is likely the Redmi 9C. With this, the sunny days of the semi-original Xiaomi Pocophone F1 seem to be rapidly fading further into the past.

The Pinebook Pro is orderable again for US$199.99. The 14-inch laptop is designed to run Linux and comes with a 10,000 mAh battery among other components. The next round of Pinebook Pro units are expected to start shipping in late August 2020.

Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked Event looks increasingly like it will include the reveal of both the Galaxy Z Fold 2 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5G. Samsung’s President and Head of Mobile Communications Business TM Roh has revealed in a blog post that the company will “be introducing five new power devices” at its upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event.
