Dimensity 820 keeps the Redmi 10X Pro and 10X on top of the latest AnTuTu mid-range smartphone performance chart but the Snapdragon 775G will unsettle that situation
It has seemingly been a good year for MediaTek in regard to the Dimensity series of processors. Regardless of personal views of the company and its practices, the Dimensity range has brought more power and performance - and choice - to the smartphone sector. This is evidenced by the Redmi 10X Pro and Redmi 10X retaining first and second place, respectively, in the latest AnTuTu mid-range smartphone performance chart.
In fact, it has actually been a quiet month for movement in this particular table, with the top 10 featuring the same smartphones in the same positions as the previous month's chart. The only differences are the average points scored, with some increasing and some decreasing. But things can be expected to be seriously shaken up once the Snapdragon 775G from Qualcomm arrives on the scene.
While a lot of focus has already been placed on the flagship wonder-chip Snapdragon 875, it’s worth taking a look at the Snapdragon 775G too. The latter processor is believed to be based on a 6nm manufacturing process and will deliver an expected 40% faster CPU performance and 50% quicker GPU performance than the 765G, if you believe various predictions. Either way, it might not make an appearance until early 2021, but it should make quite an entrance.
