After months of waiting, Xiaomi has finally begun sending out the MIUI 12 update to phones in the Snapdragon 720G-powered branch of the Redmi Note 9 family. The rollout began with the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max in India weeks ago and has now flowed over to the Redmi Note 9S and Redmi Note 9 Pro.
For the Redmi Note 9S, the MIUI 12 update is arriving for the first time. The update bears the designation numbers "V12.0.1.0.QJWTRXM" and "V12.0.1.0.QJWINXM", denoting that it's for the Turkish and Indian models of the device respectively. The build delivers the September security patch along with MIUI 12 and all its features. A similar update is also rolling out to the Russian model of the Redmi Note 9S, with build number "V12.0.1.0.QJWRUXM".
Meanwhile, Xiaomi is said to be set to expand the MIUI 12 rollout for the Redmi Note 9 Pro. The rollout for the devive began a while ago with the update being sent out to the Turkish model. A new report, however, claims that other Redmi Note 9 Pro models are on course for MIUI 12, starting with the Indonesian variant.
