Apple iPad Pro 10.5 owners complain of constant reboots after updating to iPad OS 13.4 and above; squeezing near the battery could be a temporary workaround

Several iPad Pro 10.5 owners have voiced concerns on the Apple Community forums that their device is stuck in a constant boot loop every 180 seconds after performing an iPad OS update to 13.4 or above. The issue, which does not seem to occur in iPad OS 13.3.1, is not apparently resolved even after a DFU reset. However, squeezing near the battery area seems to have had some degree of success.

The vulnerability allows attackers to gain control of all the data stored within the mails received via the Mail app on iOS devices. Apple has recently become aware of the security problem, but the vulnerability may have been exploited since early 2018. A fix will soon be released, and, until then, iPhone and iPad users are advised to deactivate the Mail app and use other solutions like Gmail.

In his latest research note, well-known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has forecast that Apple will make a large-scale transition to ARM-based MacBooks and Macs in 2021. We get to learn that the Apple A12X Bionic has eight physical GPU cores, but one of those cores is disabled. The disabled core is enabled in the new A12Z Bionic that powers the 2020 iPad Pro. While there could be several reasons for this decision, the most convincing explanation is that it would save Apple from having to develop a new A13X chip while a more powerful A14X is already in the pipeline for a late 2020 release.

Rumor: Apple is having a crack at resuscitating its failed AirPower charging mat

Apple is said to be working once again on its failed AirPower project. The tip comes from Jon Prosser who has been a fountain of hot Apple tips lately yesterday pointing to a 5G iPad Pro model he says will debut later this year.

Sculptor presents its auto-rotating 4K external monitor on Indiegogo

Sculptor Monitor is a start-up that has launched its eponymous new external display on Indiegogo. The company claims that it addresses a number of drawbacks of the average standalone monitor with this new device. They include USB type C ports that only do data or charging, bulky designs and a lack of 4K.
