Apple could be bringing 5G iPad Pros to market next year, according to dreamer of all things Apple @L0vetodream. Tweeting to their followers yesterday, @L0vetodream claimed that Apple will release next-generation iPads in Q1 or Q2 2021. Additionally, Apple will be equipping its premium tablets with the A14X Bionic. Apparently, the chipset will feature the Snapdragon X55, Qualcomm's second-generation 5G modem. @L0vetodream states that the next iPad Pros will have mini-LED displays, too.
While MacRumors and The Verge have reported this as new information, these exact specifications have been rumoured since at least April. The same applies to a 2021 release date. According to Jeff Pu of GF Securities, the complex design of the mini-LED panel has pushed the release window of the next iPad Pros from late 2020 until early 2021.
Oddly, @L0vetodream has a reputation of publishing information about upcoming Apple products before many other people do. Regardless, other leakers are still expecting Apple to release 11-inch and 12.9-inch models, which will both likely feature the company's LiDAR scanner. John Prosser has claimed that Apple may be planning to release a 5G and A14X Bionic iPad Pro later this year, before a full mini-LED refresh arrives in early 2021.
