Facebook introduces a Quiet Mode for its iOS and Android app
Current circumstances may have resulted in an entirely new pool of smartphone users who now need to adapt to the need to focus on working while in much greater proximity to their personal devices and the potential worth of distracting recreational notifications. The same people may have felt they would like help cutting down on the same in any case. This is why Your Time on Facebook has been implemented on the social-media platform in question.
Facebook has recently developed this area of its settings further with a new Quiet Mode, which give the option to mute notifications from this site's mobile app. This can be done manually or via Scheduled Quiet Mode, so that the user can avoid using their phone for relevant reasons during (for example) peak work-from-home hours.
This new addition to the app has just been picked up on by VentureBeat, but was also detected previously by the app teardown expert Jane Manchun Wong. She has also observed that Facebook is also working on advanced Your Time controls, including an option to select which types of notifications are to be muted.
The Quiet Mode feature will be first seen on the iOS version of the Facebook app in April 2020, followed by its Android variant in May 2020.
