In a humanitarian move, software company DH2i just announced that its DxOdyssey enterprise networking solution will be free for all work from home employees affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The software will remain free to download until August 31st the earliest.
DH2i describes DxOdyssey as an “unVPN” solution that enables application-level micro tunnelling across locations and platforms. Conventional VPNs route all user traffic on a device through a single server. DxOdyssey provides greater flexibility by enabling individual applications and services to route traffic through different secure channels.
Don Boxley, DH2i’s CEO had this to say: “During times of crisis, it is critical that we band together for the greater good. We...hope the DxOdyssey Work From Home offering serves to ease at least one small element of discomfort.”
Work from home employees can avail DxOdyssey here. DH2i emphasizes that downloads are anonymous and that they are not conditional on any sales communication: this is essentially a no-strings attached offer for anyone who’s currently forced to work from home.
The current global COVID-19 pandemic has brought out both the best and worst in humanity. While widespread reports of hoarding and price-gouging for essentials are disheartening, actions like this serve as an important reminder about humanity’s good side.
