The latest iPhone 12 Pro renders are in, and they look like a tiny iPad Pro 2020
SvetApple has published new renders based on the most up-to-date ideas on how the 2020 iPhone line-up will by styled. These images purport to show the 11 Pro's successor, and echoes some other recent leaks concerning what may be Apple's design choices for this device.
To that end, this "new iPhone" strongly recalls the iPad Pro 2020 series in its looks. This is because its maker has reportedly dumped the curving edges that have marked the last few generations of its mobile devices in favor of a return to the flat ones not seen since the 1st-generation SE.
Similarly, both the front and rear panels of this "12 Pro" are completely flat. SvetApple asserts that this makes for a "very luxurious" appearance, although this may be in the eye of the individual beholder. The renders also carry the square camera hump with 3 lenses and a LiDAR sensor over from the last ones on the same device series.
Their maker now believes that this module's depth will increase compared to that in the iPhones 11, although it may not stick out further from the body of the device as a whole. The screen shown in these renders remains a notch-bearing display, and exihibits the new sensor array as outlined in Jon Prosser's recent post on the subject.
Similarly, SvetApple also claims that this iPhone 12 will be 1 millimeter (mm) thinner than its predecessor; however, Apple engineering know-how will apparently leave its battery capacity unchanged. Finally, this upcoming device is allegedly to have its SIM card reader moved to the right side of its main board.
