The IdeaPad series is marketed as a mid-range offering to contrast to high-end Yoga series. Apparently, this also means that certain Yoga laptops with lesser Core i5 CPUs may slightly pull ahead of some IdeaPad laptops with the pricier Core i7.

The Asus VivoBook S14 (S435) is a Tiger Lake refresh of the existing VivoBook S14 (S433). The 14-inch laptop is Intel Evo certified and supports up to a Core-i7 CPU, 16GB of RAM, and 1TB of storage. It will be available for purchase sometime in February 2021 for an unspecified price.

The new ThinkBook Plus Gen 2 i hybrids are essentially compliant with the Intel EVO specs, as they are powered by Tiger Lake CPUs, come with 2x Thunderbolt 4 connectors and total weight is kept at 1.3 Kg / 3 lbs. Lenovo also offers larger e-Ink and main IPS touchscreens with 16:10 aspect ratio and 2560 x 1600 resolution.

Update | Lenovo does not just updates their high-end ThinkPads of the X1 series: The new ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 9 is the biggest redesigns of the series since 2017. Together with the convertible sister ThinkPad X1 Yoga Gen 6, the new X1 Carbon uses screens in the 16:10 aspect-ratio for the first time. And that is not the only change.

In the year 2021, Lenovo expands its high-end series ThinkPad X1 with another model. The new Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Titanium Yoga is thinner than all other ThinkPads and at the same time the first 3:2 ThinkPad. It also is one of the few laptops to utilize Titanium metal as a chassis material.

After a long drought in terms of Windows tablets, Lenovo introduces a new competitor to the Microsoft Surface Pro for business customers. The new Lenovo ThinkPad X12 Detachable contains the newest Tiger Lake CPUs and has a Thunderbolt 4 port.

At CES 2021, Intel has unveiled the Tiger Lake-H 35 W processors for ultraportable gaming laptops. With the introduction of these processors, Intel is not only offering further market segmentation among gaming laptops but also is looking to take on AMD's Renoir Ryzen 7 4800HS and the Ryzen 9 4900H in single-core performance. The new Tiger Lake-H35 processors led by the Core i7-11375H Special Edition can boost up to 5 GHz and also offer resizable BAR support with NVIDIA's upcoming Ampere mobile GPUs.

Lenovo has announced an OLED variant of the Yoga Slim 7i Pro that was originally introduced last year. The Yoga Slim 7i Pro's OLED display comes in a 16:10 aspect ratio and offers a 90 Hz refresh rate with 100% DCI-P3 coverage and Dolby Vision HDR support. Powering the Evo-certified Yoga Slim 7i Pro is an Intel Tiger Lake processor and NVIDIA GeForce MX450 graphics.

The new 15.6-inch XPG Xenia Xe ultrabooks can be powered by either an i7-1165G7 coupled with 16 GB of LPDDR4x-4266 RAM or an i5-1135G7 coupled with 8 GB of RAM. There is no dGPU option and the prices seem a bit spicy, but at least ADATA is including a touchscreen and 2x Thunderbolt 4 connectors.

Lenovo and NEC have teamed up to introduce new Tiger Lake devices in the Lavie range. The Lavie Mini is an 8-inch handheld gaming PC that comes with optional gaming controller and gaming dock accessories. The Lavie Pro Mobile is a 13.3-inch ultrabook that combines form and functionality without much compromise on the connectivity front.

If a laptop is giving you the option between a Core i7-1165G7 or Core i7-1185G7, then you may as well save some money and go with the Core i7-1165G7. Spending more on the Core i7-1185G7 will give only marginal performance benefits and sometimes even none at all depending on the system.

Dell has spruced-up its premium Latitude 9000 series lineup with a design refresh and internal upgrades. The Latitude 9420 comes in both 2-in-1 and traditional laptop form factors. Both variants sport 16:10 displays and are powered by Intel 11th gen Tiger Lake processors with vPro configurations. The smart-looking Samsung Galaxy Book Flex2 5G has appeared in a couple of official videos from the South Korean OEM, including an unboxing video. The Galaxy Book Flex2 5G is the new name for the Galaxy Book Flex 5G, which was actually launched in September. The convertible features an Intel Core i5-1130G7, i5-1135G7, or i7-1165G7 chip.

The latest Intel Evo laptops from Dell and Razer have a lot in common and yet one of them offers significantly faster performance than the other. The Razer Book 13 costs a lot more than the Dell, but its benefits are tangible.

HP has refreshed the EliteBook 850 G8 with Intel Tiger Lake CPU options with select configurations designed to meet Intel Evo specifications. The Vision 15 from Schenker Technologies is the first laptop based on Intel's new NUC M15 reference notebook design. We're getting mixed results from the initial batch of laptops sporting Intel's newest 11th gen Tiger Lake processors. Both CPU and GPU performance are ranging from disappointing to impressive depending on the laptop in question.

At just 989 grams, the Tiger Lake-powered Dynabook X30W-J is over 300 grams lighter than the Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 or 200 grams lighter than the LG Gram 14 convertible.

The Dell Latitude 7410 Chromebook Enterprise represents the absolute best hardware seen in a Chromebook to date. Acer has teamed with Porsche Design to offer the Porsche Design Acer Book RS with a carbon fiber lid and a premium unibody design. The Acer Book RS is powered by the Intel Tiger Lake Core i7 processor and comes with 16 GB RAM and optional GeForce MX350 graphics. Through the Chinese site Baidu, we may have gotten the first pictures and spec-info on the next gen ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 9 and ThinkPad X1 Yoga Gen 6. Both appear to be redesigned and are apparently featuring 16:10 screens.

After months of leaks, Lenovo's new 13 inch flagship is here: The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Nano takes Dell's XPS 13 9310 head on, with Intel Tiger Lake, a 16:10 aspect-ratio screen and a much more lightweight chassis.

Lenovo refreshed the ThinkBook 13s with Intel Tiger Lake processors. The Lenovo ThinkBook 13s Gen 2 comes with a 13.3-inch WQXGA IPS panel, up to 8GB of RAM and 1TB of solid-state storage, and a 61Wh battery that can be charged at 65W. It will be available for sale in October 2020, starting at US$829 and US$729 for the Intel and AMD versions.

It took longer than originally announced, but the first PC with a foldable screen is finally hitting the market: The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold may usher in a new category of mobile PCs - even if it probably will not break sales records.

The newly-unveiled ThinkBook 14 Gen 2 can be configured with Intel Tiger Lake and AMD processors. Other features include an FHD IPS/TN display, an Intel Xe/Nvidia MX 450 GPU, Wi-Fi 6 compatibility, and more. The notebooks will be available for purchase in October 2020. Prices start US$569 for the Intel model and US$549 for the AMD variant.
