A surfboard on your ear. The 8-inch tablet Asus Fonepad 8 is a joy to use with its fast quad-core SoC. You also get 2 slots for micro-SIM cards, so the tablet can be transformed into a smartphone and connection to the Internet is possible via UMTS.

Tweaked. Asus has increased the size of its efficacious 10-inch T100 to 11.6-inches without modifying technologies or features. Is that enough to attach to the success of its little Transformer?

Athletic. Athletic. Acer launches a 13.3-inch Chromebook dubbed CB5-311 on the market. A Tegra K1-ARM processor from Nvidia ticks inside. Our review reveals whether the laptop is compelling.

The successor. The new version of the Satellite S70 doesn't rely on a GeForce GT 740M chip anymore, but on a Radeon R9 M265X graphics core which enhances gaming performance significantly. The notebook still has a Core-i7 processor, a Full HD display and a Blu-ray burner. Does Toshiba offer a successful all-rounder?

Old-school business. Versatility and mobility are very important aspects of Fujitsu's latest convertible. Digitizer and multi-touch are new input methods and UMTS provides the necessary mobility. But it is not enough for an impressive result.

Tricky refresh. Every year, the Californians present a new iPhone. The latest version has a nice design overhaul and the display is now 0.7 inches larger. The performance meets Apple’s claim and is fast. However, the impression is affected by iOS 8, which is not completely smooth yet, with WLAN dropouts and shorter battery runtimes.

Disappointing display. Asus wants to liberate buyers from having to decide between a tablet and a notebook, unifying the two into one device. Unfortunately, the result in the form of the Transformer Book Flip did not turn out so well.

Multimedia machine. The spec sheet of the L50 is quite impressive. Toshiba's Satellite seems to absolutely satisfy private users with a strong CPU, a 1 TB hard drive, a graphics card from AMD, and a DVD burner. All that is available for a reasonable street price of 1000 Euros (~$1263). Where is the catch?

Below average. Lenovo decided to use the new Beema APU from AMD in its B50-45. Only 390 Euros (~$494) is due for the simple office notebook with a size of 15.6-inches. However, the computer definitely reflects its low price tag.

Tabloid tablet. The Panasonic Toughpad UT-MB5 features a 4k IPS display panel and is large enough to work with DIN A3 / Tabloid-sized drawings. At a price of about 4500 Euros (~$5800), the tablet is way too expensive to appeal to the average consumer.

For big ears. Asus launches a refresh of its phablet line with the Fonepad 7. The mid-range, 7-inch device is well-equipped - it features Intel's Atom Z3560 quad-core SoC with a clock rate of 1.83 GHz and integrated PowerVR G6430 graphics chip, dual-SIM feature, and an IPS screen in HD resolution. A rounded total package.

Under-dressed. There are plenty of low-priced office laptops. Toshiba now refreshes its bleak mass of Satellite Pro models with a new and thinner casing. Is taking a look worthwhile or is just old wine in new skins?
