Nvidia GTX 11 series release schedule already sent to AIB partners

It looks like Nvidia's AIB partners have already been notified about the upcoming GTX 11 launch schedule. First to launch will be the GTX 1180 flagship at the end of August. Then after 1 month the overclocked GTX 1180 cards will be launched along with the GTX 1170. Late October will see the launch of the GTX 1160 and the mobility variants will most likely come in late November.

The Ryzen 5 2500X managed to get similar scores to Intel's gen 7 i7-7700 CPU, making it an excellent solution for budget desktops. It is the only quad-core/8-thread CPU in the Ryzen 2000 family and it should be a best buy at only US$20 over the Ryzen 3 2300X ~US$140 price. Additionally, it can easily be overclocked to 4.3 GHz on air, probably eevn higher on watercooled solutions.

AMD's Ryzen 3 2300X budget CPU OC potential and Cinebench results leaked

The unannounced Ryzen 3 2300X is running at 3.5 GHz by default and can go up to 4 GHz via boost frequencies. On default air cooling it may be pushed to 4.3 GHz without any problems, but liquid coolers may be able to help push it even further. The processor managed to score 690 points in Cinebench R15, placing it right between Intel's i3-8100 and i3-8350K.

AMD's upcoming HEDT processor, the 32C/64T Ryzen Threadripper 2990X has been spotted in the 3DMark database. While the entry does not show any performance score, it does show lower boost clocks owning to probably a non-XFR2 motherboard. Also, the pricing of the CPU was inadvertently leaked by a European online retailer. At just over Euro 1500, the Ryzen Threadripper 2990X could give Intel's 28-core chip a run for its money.

First Nvidia GTX 1180 PCB prototype leaked with 12 GB 384-bit GDDR6 VRAM

According to insider sources, Nvidia's desktop GPU team is already testing GTX 11xx prototype PCBs and the final specs should be announced in mid-July. One of these prototype PCBs was already leaked on reddit. The board does not feature the GPU, however the spec sheet includes 12 GB of GDDR6 VRAM with a 384-bit bus, three 8-pin power connectors and a second gen NVLink.

Intel's upcoming Z390 chipset could be just a rebadged Z370 if the grapevine on the street is to be believed. The guys over at HKEPC revealed that the Threadripper 2990X 32-core CPU is running at 3.4 GHz by default and can go up to 4.0 GHz in boost mode. It also comes with 40 MB L2+L3 cache memory and a TDP of only 250 W. According to Cinebench R15, the AMD chip is a bit faster than Intel's 28-core processor at stock frequencies.

AMD Ryzen 5 2500X and Ryzen 3 2300X hit Geekbench with up to 4 GHz boost and impressive performance

Expected to cost around US$160, the AMD Ryzen 5 2500X is almost as fast as the Intel Core i7-7700, while the cheaper (around US$130) Ryzen 3 2300X delivers about the same performance as the Intel Core i5-7600K. Both chips are manufactured using a 12 nm process and have a maximum clock speed of 4 GHz.

Nvidia GTX 1180 to get high speed output, new price details unveiled

New leaks reveal that Nvidia's GTX 1180 will support higher refresh rates through one VR-friendly connection, making it possible to render 4K@120 Hz content for each eye, and this would also apply to the TV-sized G-Sync 4K monitors. Price-wise, the GTX 1180 will not match the original launch MSRP of the GTX 1080, as there will be two versions and the most affordable one is supposed to cost US$999.

AMD's semi-custom chipset technologies for Microsoft, Sony, and even Intel may be becoming too lucrative to ignore. If rumors are true, then the AMD Navi series will not be competing in the flagship space against the impending Nvidia Turing GTX 1180 or 2080 due to development commitments with Sony.

Zotac announces i7-8700T six-core workstation mini PC

Apparently, the Zbox Q workstation mini PCs were quite the hit and Zotac now intends to release an updated version by the end of 2018. Zotac will only add a newer i7-8700T six-core CPU (plus a new motherboard) and a faster 10 GbE NIC to the already powerful specs that include Nvidia's Quadro P5000 16 GB VRAM GPU, NVMe + SATA storage combos and up to 32 GB of DDR4 RAM.

Intel's 8-core Coffee Lake-S mainstream CPUs to launch in September on the Z390 platform

PCWatch reported that the first mainstream desktop 8-core Coffee Lake-S CPUs should be launched in September along with the Z390 platform. These chips should cost more than US$400 and will come in 80/95 W SKUs. Intel will also launch refreshed 22-core Skylake-X HEDT processors and ultra-premium Cascade Lake-X chips by the end of the year.
