Intel manages to snag the 10th position with the Core i5-9600K, while AMD's models are mostly mid-range CPUs from the 2000 and 3000 series. AIDA64 adds support for 7 nm AMD Vermeer and Renoir processors

Popular diagnostic tool AIDA64 has been updated for the arrival of 2020 processors, namely AMD Ryzen 4000 "Vermeer" and "Renoir" processors. The desktop and mobile chips are due to arrive in Q3 and Q1 2020 respectively. Only the former will be making the jump to AMD's new Zen 3 architecture though, with Renoir being based on its existing Zen 2 architecture.

The new Geekbench include 6-core / 12-thread and 10-core / 20-thread models from the upcoming Comet Lake-S with relatively low boost clocks. They also pack the UHD Graphics 630 iGPU, so no Xe architecture that could boost the graphics performance. Hopefully the 10-core model is not the-top-of-the-line for Intel's gen 10 desktop CPUs as they would not stand a chance against AMD's upcoming Zen3 chips.

Packaging for a 3rd Gen Threadripper from AMD has been leaked. The box-within-a-box design features a square exterior case emblazoned with the famous orange Ryzen ring while the interior packaging resembles a sleek and even slightly futuristic somber gaming rig. It’s believed AMD will be releasing the Castle Peak Ryzen Threadrippers very soon.

Google extends the EOL of 140 different Chrome OS devices by up to a year each

Google provides hardware that runs its own OS with automatic updates for a fixed period of time after their release. This software policy applies to a range of devices, from Chromebooks to Chromebits, the end-of-life (EOL) of which is known as Auto Update Expiration (or AUE). 140 of these products have had their AUEs amended by 6 months to a year each.
