OPPO has made the A92s smartphone available for pre-order to customers in China. The midrange handset comes with a MediaTek Dimensity 800 5G processor, and it can be configured with either 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage or 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. OPPO is offering this 5G-capable Dimensity-wielding device from just 2,199 yuan (~US$311).

OnePlus has now launched the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro in its home country of China. Unsurprisingly, the phones cost quite a bit less than they do in the US. Over US$130 less, to be exact. That differential can be explained, though.

iQOO is currently setting its latest Neo-series smartphone up for launch on April 23, 2020. It has been through the AnTuTu benchmark beforehand, which reveals a decently high score as may be expected of a Snapdragon 865-powered device. It is also touted as having a 144Hz display, which may have come into play during this test.

New leaks point to the imminent debut of a new smartphone by OPPO called the PDKM00, or A92s. This device has also recently acquired renders that suggest quad rear cameras found in a square module. BOE has announced that it will make more displays that support Qualcomm's 3D Sonic fingerprint sensor technology in the future. These panels will also be of more types and for more use-cases than ever before. This includes flexible OLEDs and internet-of-things (IoT) components.

Motorola is currently linked to an upcoming smartphone series with the name of Edge. One of its variants may have surfaced on Geekbench 5. It is not the rumored Snapdragon 865-powered flagship, but does apparently run the powerful upper-mid-range SoC, the 765G.

Some details have emerged online that shed light on Nokia's upcoming flagship. Nokia 9.3 PureView will reportedly come with a 120Hz screen, a 108MP camera sensor, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC. The phone doesn't have an official launch date just yet and is expected to drop later this year.

International pre-orders for the earlier announced Nubia RedMagic 5G — successor to the RedMagic 3 and 3S — begin on the 4th of April, with the official release date set for the 21st of April. RedMagic is running a "blueprint" buying pre-order event, granting holders the right to purchase the device on launch and providing a discount.

The OPPO Ace2 has been introduced via live-stream in China today (April 13, 2020), as promised. The new Snapdragon 865-powered phone launched alongside the AirVOOC charger, a new accessory that supports 40-watt (W) wireless power. Its OEM also debuted new TWS earbuds at this event.

Samsung has announced that several new Galaxy A-line phones will become available in the USA soon. This "select" list includes the 5G versions of the A51 and A71. It also extends to the ultra-budget A01, which drops the entry-level pricing of this series well below US$150 in 2020.

Samsung has been taking quite a lot of flak for its semi-custom Exynos 990 SoC as there are some performance differentials between it and the models shipping in its home market of Korea, China and the US, which are fitted with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865. But is the criticism truly warranted?

The PDHM00 is a phone OPPO has had approved for launch in China. It is thought that it is a second-gen Reno Ace, a sub-series that focuses on select high-end specs. A set of AnTuTu benchmarking results allegedly linked to it show that it has the Snapdragon 865 processor.

Recently, a benchmarking leak pointed to a 5G variant of a popular early-2020 phone, the Samsung Galaxy A51. Now, the phone in question has been certified as a Wi-Fi device. This appears to verify the initial rumor and to suggest that the A51 5G will launch soon.

Apple's much-awaited iPhone 12 series is reportedly in its final prototyping stages. The base iPhone 12 will come with a 5.4 or 6.1-inch screen and two cameras, while the larger iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max will come with three cameras and 6.1 and 6.7-inch screens respectively. Both phones will also feature a LiDAR sensor next to the camera array. All three iPhone 12 variants will come with Apple's latest A14 SoC and will be 5G-ready out of the box.

The OPPO Reno3 5G is still the top device in AnTuTu’s midrange smartphone chart, helped along by its impressive MediaTek Dimensity 1000L chipset. The OPPO phone now has an average score that is over 400,000 points, putting it way beyond its Exynos 980, Snapdragon 765G, and Kirin 810-powered competitors.

The Exynos 990 being a significantly worse chipset than the Snapdragon 865—or even last year's Snapdragon 855—may as well be fact at this point. Samsung appears to disagree, though, for what it's worth.

Going by recent reports, LG has now killed off its flagship G-series, with the LG G9 ThinQ all but officially dead in the water. According to word on the grapevine, the replacement to the G9 ThinQ has now been penned down for a May 15 launch, and is touted to feature a Snapdragon 765G, four cameras in total, and a 4000 mAh battery.

OPPO has released 4G variants of its Reno3 series outside of its native China. Now, it seems it is letting the original, 5G versions of these phones out into the wider world too. To the surprise of all, ZTE recently presented the Axon 11 5G not as a flagship smartphone but as a mid-range model. Now it seems that another 5G midranger from ZTE will soon join the club. A Japanese provider has put a render image and the specifications of the new smartphone online.
