BIOS updates stabilize the performance. In our first tests, the ThinkPad X1 Carbon G9 still struggled with performance issues. After several BIOS updates, the performance is now stable, but also lower. The optional ePrivacy screen also remains problematic.

Super Vapor. Colossus. Lenovo's P-series ThinkPads fall in line with the traditional ThinkPads. While this is not necessarily a bad thing, the display borders around the 16:9 display could have been slightly narrower. Still up to date? The Lenovo ThinkPad P15 Gen 2 is a traditional mobile workstation with a large chassis and a focus on performance. To this end, it's equipped with the latest 45-watt CPUs from Intel as well as new professional graphics cards from Nvidia. However, the cooling system in particular doesn't fully deliver.

First AMD ThinkPad with a UHD display. Until now, the 4K UHD displays had a glossy surface in the 14-inch ThinkPads, and the AMD Ryzen models of the ThinkPad T14 and its siblings were not offered with 4K displays at all. This changes now with the Lenovo ThinkPad P14s Gen 2 AMD with a Ryzen 5000 and a UHD monitor that has a matte surface to boot.

A lot of performance and very good keyboard. Lenovo updates the third generation of its 15-inch ThinkPad E15 with powerful Ryzen 5000 CPUs as well as better displays. The very good keyboard is unchanged, so the E15 G3 is a real price-performance recommendation.

Budget laptop with potential. The Lenovo ThinkPad L series represents the entry level among the B2B models; the ThinkPad L14 Gen 2 is one of the cheapest ThinkPad laptops with a 14-inch display. Nevertheless, it convinces with its strong performance and upgradeability. However, compromises have to be made in terms of battery life and multimedia.

Redesign in the old format. Even though Lenovo renews its premium model of the ThinkPad T-Series from the ground up, the Lenovo ThinkPad T14s Gen 2 still keeps its 16:9 format, going against the current trend for displays. The fact that it still achieves a very good result is primarily due to the excellent input devices and equipment.

Tiger & Turing. P15s, round two: Even with the newest components, the Lenovo ThinkPad P15s does not turn into a performance champion. But perhaps it doesn't have to, and the ThinkPad ultrabook workstation can still be a good catch for users with the corresponding needs.

Carbon convertible. Lenovo places the ThinkPad X13 Yoga below the ThinkPad X1 flagship as a convertible laptop for business customers and ultra-mobile users. The convertible laptop now has a 16:10 aspect ratio in the ThinkPad X13 Yoga Gen 2, but at the same time, it retains the classic carbon/magnesium case.
