Price-performance champ. Lenovo outfits its new ThinkPad E14 Gen 2 with dual-channel RAM, AMD Ryzen 4000 and a smaller chassis. The new model is not fault-free, but in many important aspects, the Lenovo laptop delivers. Its low price is an additional trump card.

Compact Ryzen power. As the newest small ThinkPad laptop, the Lenovo ThinkPad X13 Gen 1 is the continuation of the traditional ThinkPad X series. In 2020, the AMD version bears the same name as the Intel model - and it is much faster. Buyers still have to live without Thunderbolt, but the performance advantage is so big that we do not consider it a deal-breaker.

Lenovo's best business notebook? The ThinkPad T14s with the AMD Renoir processor offers much more performance and is also less expensive than the Intel version. But what about the power consumption and the battery runtime? We have a closer look at the differences of the two models.

Inferior. Last year’s Lenovo ThinkPad T490s won our "Editor’s Choice Award“. The successor, the Lenovo ThinkPad T14s with Comet Lake-based Intel CPUs is just as good. However, because there is a more attractive option with an AMD chip, the Intel-based ThinkPad T14s Gen 1 is not going to sell as well. Read our review to learn why.

More pixels including PWM flickering. Lenovo also offers the 2020 ThinkPad X1 Carbon with an optional glossy 4K screen, which is supposed to reach a brightness of 500 nits and also supports HDR contents. but how does the panel affect the battery runtime of the compact business laptop?

Only a facelift? Lenovo’s latest convertible laptop in the ThinkPad series is clad in familiar clothing. A Comet Lake-based chip and Wi-Fi 6 are two headline features of the ThinkPad X1 Yoga 2020. Read our review to learn what this actually means and whether this negatively affects battery life.

Offside. This year's T-series ThinkPads have only received minor updates. Nevertheless, the smaller 14-inch models have improved quite a bit in regard to performance thanks to AMD Ryzen 4000. This cannot be said about the larger ThinkPad T15 Gen 1 though as it lacks the Renoir option entirely and has to make do with Intel's Comet Lake. Our extensive review revealed that this can be a major show-stopper for the large T-series ThinkPad.

New name but not much new otherwise. ThinkPad T400, T410, T420, T490. Lenovo's ThinkPad T series has followed the same naming scheme for more than a decade. That changes with the Lenovo ThinkPad T14, the latest model in the mainstream ThinkPad series for enterprise customers. But apart from the new name and a small CPU update, which provides a doubtful usefulness, there's not much new.

Minor Update. Lenovo shows the 8th generation of its business flagship ThinkPad X1 Carbon. However, it is just a very small update and it looks like you only get a new Intel Comet Lake-U processor at first. AMD processors are not planned for this generation of the expensive business notebook.

Still a hot machine. The ThinkPad E490 is available with an optional dedicated GPU. Similar to the predecessor, however, the cooling solution struggles with the additional heat, and even multiple BIOS updates did not change that.

Business convertible for both homes and offices alike. If the ThinkPad X1 Carbon and Yoga C940 had a baby, it would be the ThinkPad X1 Yoga. This convertible takes the best of the professional ThinkPad X1 Carbon and wraps it in a chassis inspired by the consumer-centric Yoga series for strong first impressions.
