Today marks the last official update for the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P, the last phones in Google's storied Nexus line. While the phones haven't seen a software update since getting Android 8.1 Oreo in February 2018, the Nexus handsets have been receiving security updates every month, the last of which was pushed out today.

This could mean that Razer is testing Android 9 on their latest handset and may be releasing an update soon. This would put the Razer Phone 2 in an elite class, as only a handful of other phones are running Android 9.

Some Pixel 2 and 2XL units do not save the pictures taken using Google Camera properly, so that they do not show up in Photos or in the phones' storage. This is now apparently happening to some newer Pixels as well. This issue may be linked to the HDR modes and how it processes photos.

The Pixel 3 XL is likely to include that most divisive of features: the notch. A new leak, containing a screen protector described as fitting the upcoming Google phone, may give an idea of its extent in real life. This leak also suggests that, otherwise, the Pixel 3 XL's front panel is not much different to that of the 2 XL.

The Pixel 3 XL appears to run on Android 9 Pie and features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC with 4 GB RAM. While the Pixel 3 XL lacks a headphone jack, Google appears to have compensated for the same by bundling a set of USB-C earphones in the box.

A typo in the build script of AOSP-based custom ROMs for the Google Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones is reportedly causing the photo uploads from Google Camera to count against the Google Photos storage limit. The bug, however, is fixed now and users running custom ROMs on first gen Pixel phones should be able to use the unlimited Google Photos storage as usual.

Images and videos of the upcoming Pixel 3 devices paint a completely uninteresting picture

High-res factory-based CAD renders of the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL have surfaced. The latter sports an egregious notch, and both feature dual selfie cameras, a single rear camera, and a traditional fingerprint sensor at the back. It all just feels like an unmotivated refresh by Google, really.
