Benchmarking Intel Comet Lake-S CPUs with up to 10 cores

10 cores need a whole lot of power! Since Intel first revealed its new Comet Lake-S processors and its new chipsets at the end of April, we were able to get our hands only on the high-end Intel Core i9-10900K and the Intel Core i5-10600K. Intel’s CPUs are still the best for gaming, but this comes at a very high cost.

The boost clocks reported by 3DMark for the 6-core / 12-thread Rocket Lake-S CPU suggest that this could be a replacement for the Comet Lake-S i5-10400 CPU. The disappointing part is that there are no performance gains as far as CPU cores go, as the Rocket Lake-S engineering sample proves to be slightly slower than the Comet Lake-S model. It does, however, deliver better graphics performance thanks to the new Xe iGPU.

As per the sources, Turing is just a guinea pig experiment with Ampere expected to offer a 10-20% IPC increase, 4x the ray tracing performance, and clocks that can be easily pushed to 2 GHz. NVIDIA is also working on an overhauled software stack to counter AMD's Radeon Adrenalin Software.

Unconventional B150 motherboard packs an LGA 1151 socket and an embedded NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti

Unearthed by Linus Tech Tips, this B150 motherboard has not only an LGA 1151 socket but also an embedded NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti. The sort of micro ATX board also has I/O on all four sides and more SATA connections than you could shake a stick at.

Intel Core i9-10900K surpasses 3,000 in Cinebench R15 running at 5.4 GHz; within touching distance of the AMD Ryzen 9 3900X and well ahead of the Core i9-9900K

AMD may have upped its game with recent Ryzen and Threadripper processors, but the Core i9-10900K shows that Intel still has something left to offer. Seemingly able to push 5.4 GHz and 1.35 V while scoring over 3,000 in Cinebench R15 multi-core, the Core i9-10900K is a massive improvement over the Core i9-9900K. The Core i9-10900K has the measure of the Ryzen 9 3900X too, but do not mention the Ryzen 9 3950X, though.
