Rivet Networks announces the new Killer USB type C 3.1 to 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet adapter
Does your new or planned laptop upgrade have USB type C ports only? Oh well, no high-speed wired connections for you, right? Maybe not. Rivet Networks' best-known brand Killer has released a new Ethernet dongle rated for 10/100/1000Mbps/2.5Gbps, which connects via the latest type of USB port up to the 3.1 standard.
Killer asserts that this 2.5 Gigabit (with Cat. 5e or better cables) is designed for gamers or other intensive PC users in mind. It is rated to prioritize or refine network traffic with respect to these tasks, using software such as Killer’s Extreme Gaming Mode; Prioritization Engine; GameFast Technology; Intelligence Engine; DoubleShot Pro and Control Center 2.0.
The new Killer Ethernet USB Dongle is also compatible with the 2.5GBASE-T Alliance PHY Specification, IPv4, IPv6 and supports "jumbo" 16K-byte frames. It also complies with the IEEE's 802.3az Energy Efficient standard for wired connectivity, as well as its 802.3x Full Duplex Flow control. It is available on Amazon from now at a price of US$49.99.
