The Ultimate Ryzen 5 3580U vs. Ryzen 3500U and 3700U CineBench Comparison: Almost All Alike

The Ultimate Ryzen 5 3580U vs. Ryzen 3500U and 3700U CineBench Comparison: Almost All Alike

Microsoft's semi-custom approach to Ryzen isn't really any better than the best Ryzen 5 3500U or Ryzen 7 3700U laptop you can buy in terms of performance. It's certainly good and comparable to the Core i7-1065G7 in some respects, but benchmarks for the Ryzen 5 3580U show it to be nothing special.

Intel's HEDT woes continue: Core i9-10980XE looks to trail behind the Core i9-9980XE by 2.6% in Cinebench R20, 12-core Ryzen 9 3900X is within striking distance

The first benchmarks of the Intel Core i9-10980XE Cascade Lake-X have been published early and the processor seems to be facing tough competition from the likes of the AMD Ryzen 9 3900X. In tests such as Cinebench R20, the 10980XE seems to have posted lower scores than even the Core i9-9980XE. The 10980XE's initial data however seem to be not a very good representative of a mature platform such as Skylake.

AMD Ryzen 9 3950X takes on the Intel Core i9-9980XE at stock settings in Cinebench R20, offers potentially higher performance per dollar than even the Core i9-10980XE

New benchmark scores of the AMD Ryzen 9 3950X seem to indicate that AMD's upcoming flagship CPU can offer performance equivalent to Intel's HEDT chips such as the Core i9-9980XE and the Core i9-10980XE while beating them in terms of performance per dollar. The Ryzen 9 3950X was benchmarked using Cinebench R20 at stock settings.

AMD's Matisse beasts are far from toothless as Ryzen 3000 helps to gnaw at Intel's Steam survey share

September’s Steam Hardware and Software Survey has seemingly delivered more good news for AMD. The survey has measured data in regard to PC processor usage by manufacturer, which yet again has been thoroughly dominated by Intel. However, the red team has enjoyed another month of considerable growth, which could be down to its Ryzen 3000 generation of chips.

SUPER appearance for Nvidia in Steam's hardware survey but there's also plenty of love for AMD's Radeon RX 590 series

The Steam Hardware and Software Survey for September 2019 has shown some interesting changes in terms of PC video card usage. Although Nvidia still dominates the overall percentage share with the GeForce RTX 2060 going strong and the GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER making an appearance, AMD’s Radeon RX 590 Series leads an upsurge in GPUs from the red team.

Littlezipp's Alienware m15 R2 (Core i9-9980HK) scores over 30 runs in Cinebench R15.

Apparently, the Core i9-9980HK CAN beat the Core i9-9980H... under the right circumstances

In a recent article, we pointed out that we have yet to see a laptop with the Intel Core i9-9980HK outperform the MSI GE75 GS9, which runs the cheaper (and theoretically less powerful) Intel Core i9-9980H. A forum user by the name of littlezipp has posted evidence that the 9980HK in his Alienware m15 R2 thoroughly beats the 9980H in a 30-loop test of Cinebench R15. However, littlezipp nabbed this performance by way of a good undervolt and repasting his CPU with liquid metal.
