This new update fixes touchscreen and keyboard bugs left in the preceding version. Therefore, it is not the best indication that an official update to Pie for the device will be here soon.

New details about Samsung's Galaxy M10 emerge

A filing with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for the Samsung Galaxy M10 smartphone has thrown up a couple of new details about the device. The M10’s measurements have been specified at a length of 155.7 mm and a width of 75.88 mm, and the display diagonal has been confirmed as 153.2 mm, which is equivalent to 6.03 inches.

As a sort of early holiday present, Samsung announced that the Galaxy S9 and S9+ would be updated to Android 9.0 (Pie) from December 24 onwards. However, few regions have actually seen the upgrade for these devices as yet. Some users who have managed to install it may face more battery drain than usual.

Real-world photos of physical Samsung Galaxy S10+ smartphone may have just leaked online

A couple of images of what could be an actual physical Samsung Galaxy S10 series device have been leaked online. One of the images appeared on the Weibo social network site while another was sent directly to SlashGear. It has been speculated the images show the S10 Plus variant of the upcoming flagship series. There is a chance that either image is actually a render rather than a real-world photo, though.

Latest Samsung Galaxy S10 CAD leak shows dual Infinity-O cameras - and a 3.5mm jack

OnLeaks and 91Mobile have compiled a new image and video series purported to show CAD renders for the Galaxy S10. It shows a virtually bezel-less phone that, in fairness, closely resembles the Note 9. However, the Note does not have a dual camera integrated into the screen, a clear lack of a hardware fingerprint scanner, or triple rear cameras.

'Fake' Samsung Galaxy S10 spotted in the wild

The well-regarded leaker IceUniverse has posted an image showing a phone with Samsung flagship-like design hallmarks. The tipster asserts that it is a Galaxy S10 clone. If so, it suggests that the makers of fake phones think that the device will strongly resemble the Note 9.

A report from Gizmodo UK has some bad news for those who were hoping for a price tag under US$2,000 for Samsung’s upcoming foldable smartphone. According to a verified source, the device, which may end up being known as the Galaxy Flex, will cost from £1,500 to £2,000 in the UK market. At current exchange rates, that’s ~US$1,922 to US$2,561.

Samsung's new One UI based on Android 9 Pie will be released sometime next year but apparently, that includes only the latest Galaxy S9, S9+, and Note 9 devices. According to a Samsung representative at the ongoing SDC 2018, the Galaxy S8, S8+, and the Note 8 will not be getting the new One UI user experience. However, it is not clear at this stage whether these devices will be getting the Android 9 Pie update separately or not.

Global smartphone shipments for the third quarter have fallen by 6% over the last 12 months, according to data from IDC. The shipment volume for 3Q 2018 stood at 355.2 million units, compared to 377.8 million smartphones shipped in 3Q 2017. Samsung remains the overall pack leader, but Huawei has made significant ground on the South Korean manufacturer.

The Note 7 was recalled two years ago for a default that made the devices go up in flames. The new Note 9 may be set to follow the path its predecessor made, though, as a woman in New York has filed a case against Samsung, claiming her new Note 9 exploded in her purse.
