Samsung has released its official road-map for Android 9.0 (Pie) updates. It mostly applies to the Galaxy line-up of phones from the last 2 years (i.e. the Galaxy S devices, a number of Galaxy A (2018) devices, the Galaxy J (2017) series and some Galaxy Tabs. It also confirms that the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus are receiving their updates to Pie earlier than originally planned.
According to the per-device schedule, the Galaxy Note 9 should be updated to Pie in February 2019. It should be followed by the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus, Note 8 and Galaxy As (2018) 7 through 9 over the next few months. Unsurprisingly, the Galaxy S7 line is nowhere on this list, as it has already received its two major updates. However, this list does not mention the Galaxy Note FE, as some correspondents have expected.
This phone, despite its status as a battery-restricted Galaxy Note 7 refresh, was released in 2017 and has only received one major Android update. Therefore, it may have ideally been in line for a second, which could have seen it all the way to Pie (as with the Note 8). However, it seems that this special release is not getting the same treatment as the other regular releases.
