Samsung is currently sending out the Android Pie update to users of the Galaxy Note FE. The Note FE wasn't included in the company's Pie update roadmap, so this is a pleasant surprise. The update doubles up as the March security patch and also brings Samsung's new One UI.

Samsung released the Galaxy Note 7 in 2016, with the device getting one of the most positive receptions the company had ever had. Sadly, things were not to be all sugary, as the Note 7 had an issue with its battery that caused it to spontaneously combust. Samsung, of course, issued a complete recall for the flagship, but nine months later, released the Galaxy Note FE as a retouched option for the fans who loved the Note 7.

The Note FE was launched on Android Nougat and received the Oreo update last year. Samsung's Android Pie update roadmap curiously had the Note FE missing from the list but that appears to just have been a mistake, as the device is now receiving the Pie update in certain regions.

The update is one that brings Samsung's new One UI skin to the device, alongside all the regular Pie goodies. Users in Saudi Arabia have confirmed receipt of the OTA, and we expect it to make its way to other regions in the coming weeks. The update is the N935FXXU4CSC4 firmware version and weighs in at about 1.6 GB.
