AMD is allegedly preparing non-X variants of its Zen 4 Ryzen 9 7900X, Ryzen 7 7700X, and Ryzen 5 7600X CPUs. The SKUs which include the Ryzen 9 7900, the Ryzen 7 7700, and the Ryzen 5 7600 are rumored to debut next year, at considerably cheaper prices than their X-series counterparts.

Ryzen 7000 processors have seemingly had their prices cut to make the Zen 4-based chips a more attractive purchase ahead of the financially crucial holiday season. The AMD Ryzen 9 7950X has led the price-cut charge, with it currently being offered for under US$600 in the United States, at around €650 in some European retailers, and for close to £600 for UK buyers.

The engineering samples are mentioned in the Einstein@Home database, which also includes OPN codes that suggest base frequencies of 2 GHz and 2.1 GHz. Judging by the number of cores and threads, the upcoming top-of-the-line Threadripper 7000 could have similar specs to AMD's EPYC 9654 server processors.

Information regarding the Intel Raptor Lake processors has been steadily leaking out over the past months. We have now seen the Core i9-13900K, the Core i7-13700KF, and the Core i5-13600K visit Geekbench for valid single-core and multi-core tests. This time a Core i5-13600KF has appeared on Geekbench giving us our first look at the chip’s alleged performance profile.

Thanks to frequent leaks, we don’t have to wait for an official announcement from Intel to get an idea about the performance of the Raptor Lake chips. The single-core numbers seem to be on par with the Core i7-12700K with potential for beating even the Core i9-12900K. Multi-core numbers for these processors show decent gains over their predecessors, but Intel seems to have the upper hand here at the moment.

AMD is reportedly launching Zen 4 X3D early next year if the latest report from Moore’s Law is Dead is accurate. The chips which might include the Ryzen 9 7950X3D and the Ryzen 7 7800X3D are reportedly Zen 4 desktop parts with 3D stacked cache. Aside from desktop SKUs, the leaker has also shared some details regarding AMD’s Dragon Range APUs.

Asus has announced the expansion of its X670E motherboard offerings at Gamescom 2022, with new ROG Crosshair, ROG Strix, Prime and ProArt variants. They are all rated to upgrade to DDR5 and PCIe 5.0 support as well as that for the latest AMD Ryzen chipsets - plus USB4 in some flagship cases. Meanwhile, the OEM's popular Thor series of power supplies has just been joined by a first-gen Loki variant with an 80 PLUS Platinum certification.

A leaked Cinebench R20 score of the AMD Ryzen 7 7700X Zen 4 processor has shown up online. It nets single and multi-threaded scores of 773 and 7,701, which are 25% faster than its Zen 3 counterpart, but slower than the Core i7-13700K, which scored 814 and 11,243.

AMD's Zen 4 X3D lineup could be launched sometime in H1, 2022. The Ryzen 7 7800X3D and Ryzen 9 7950X3D will use a second-generation V-cache and perform up to 30% faster than the corresponding Zen 4 processors.

An early AMD Ryzen 5 7600X prototype is being sold on a Chinese marketplace for RMB 9,999 (~US$1,400). The engineering sample has a base clock of 4,400 MHz and was manufactured sometime in May 2022.
