Excellent for the price. At only $900 USD, the entry-level MSI GL63 is able to play most if not all modern titles at 1080p with some tweaked settings for smoother frame rates. The stereo speakers are surprisingly decent and fan noise is relatively low for such an inexpensive gaming machine.

Even better than before. This third generation model adds a few new features to last year's model including a NumPad, fingerprint reader, narrower bezels, and a slightly larger battery. Fans are quieter and processor temps are cooler. Physically, however, the system is not any lighter or thinner.

15-inch display in a 14-inch chassis. Schenker Technologies expands its portfolio with an interesting gaming notebook. Not only does the XMG Neo 15 feature a mechanical keyboard, but it also has slim bezels. Is it a serious rival for the Gigabyte Aero 15X, MSI GS65 and the Razer Blade 15?

Lightweight luxury. Compared to its predecessor, the LifeBook U938 is slightly lighter. The biggest upgrade is the quad-core processor, but not much has changed otherwise. Battery life is still decent, but falls short in direct comparison with its biggest rivals.

Razor-sharp. After offering 13-inch, 14-inch, and 17-inch Blade laptops for years, it's about time Razer launch a 15-inch model to complete the series. This GTX 1060 Max-Q SKU is every bit as impressive as the GTX 1070 Max-Q configuration from top to bottom. Assuming, of course, that the asking price of $1900 USD hasn't turned you away.

Plastic with style. The Alcatel 3V is priced well and should be powerful enough for casual users. Alcatel has managed to make the device look stylish despite using a plastic case. Find out in this review whether the Alcatel 3V’s internal hardware is as good as it looks.

Super AMOLED FHD+. Samsung's Galaxy A series is designed with a certain kind of customer in mind: those who want a smartphone with a simple look and high manufacturing quality. We thoroughly tested the 6-inch Galaxy A6+ and report in this review what buyers can expect. The smartphone is priced at around 370 Euros (~$425; international version ~$350).

Overachiever. As a successor to the high-class 14-inch Blade, Razer has introduced a new compact gaming notebook with 15-inch edge-to-edge display. Find out how well the slim gaming notebook performed against its competitors in our extensive review.

Gamer-turned-workstation. Zotac has swapped out the GeForce GTX 1060 in its ZBox Magnus series for the workstation-equivalent Quadro P3000 to create a powerful mini PC for professional users. Temperature and fan noise are excellent when compared to workstation laptops. Some slight throttling behavior at extreme loads prevent this from being a must buy.

Made in Germany. With the GS185, Gigaset launches the first smartphone designed and assembled in Germany. Considering the price is significantly below 200 Euros (~$233), expectations should not be pitched too high. However, the GS185 offers a trendy 2:1 display and a strong 4000 mAh battery. Tablet or smartphone? If you cannot decide which category the HTC Desire 12 Plus falls into, consider it a phablet. The Desire 12 Plus has a 6.0-inch display, a fingerprint sensor, runs Android 8.0 and it is a dual-SIM device. Find out how the HTC Desire 12’s big brother fares in our review.

Six Cores the Richer. Aesthetically, not much has changed with the GT63 since its predecessor nearly two years ago. But the upgrades to a Core i7-8750H and GTX 1080 are promising by themselves… do they live up to expectations?

Core i9 gamer. Eurocom is skipping the i7-8750H and going straight for the jugular with the more powerful i9-8950HK. Performance is indubitably faster than the last generation Core i7-7700HQ, but some repeatable throttling behavior is holding back the system.

Cooler, faster, better. The mid-2018 edition of the Strix GL703 Scar Edition comes with hexa-core Coffee Lake-H i7 processor, same Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 graphics and a significantly redesigned cooling system. The changes are largely positive.

A good compromise. The Schenker XMG A707 is designed to attract both gamers and multimedia lovers. To this end, the manufacturer has equipped the more expensive version of the laptop with a Core i7-8750H and a GeForce GTX 1050 Ti. iMac for professionals!? Apple's iMac is a popular all-in-one system in two different sizes, but it is primarily designed for private users. Professionals only got the Mac Pro so far, but Apple now sells a pro version of the iMac with Intel Xeon CPU and AMD Radeon Pro GPU. We review the entry-level model for almost 5,500 Euros (~$6359).

Night and Day. With the Galaxy A6 (2018), Samsung brings a chic-looking, mid-range smartphone to the market, which scores major points with its 5.6-inch Super AMOLED display and two 16 MP cameras. In our review, the Android smartphone proves to be very capable, but it has a few weaknesses.

Full metal smartphone. The UMIDIGI S2 Lite is an affordable phablet with a huge battery, a 6.0-inch display with a 2:1 aspect ratio and dual rear-facing cameras. Find out in this review whether the S2 Lite is good enough for daily use.

I know that one! With Coffee Lake and a good mid-range GPU, Dell presents the G5 15 as a gaming notebook for the limited budget. This "Doogee" bag is full of sustenance. How do you fit a gigantic battery into a smartphone? The Chinese manufacturer Doogee has no qualms with simply making the smartphone bigger. Plastic Pro. The whole notebook market has been reconfigured to ultrabook designs. Wait, is it really the whole notebook market? Mixed performance. From a purely technical point of view, the XMG A517 from Schenker Technologies is quite up-to-date. Key words such as hexa-core CPU, 144-Hz panel, and NVMe SSD will please a gamer's heart and promise a good performance. We clarify in our test why the 15-incher still cannot completely convince.

An affordable starter. The UMIDIGI A1 Pro appears to be a real bargain. The device is smartly designed, has dual-cameras and it supports 5 GHz Wi-Fi networks, all of which we would not expect from a 120-Euro device (~$138). New engine, same body. MSI brings Coffee Lake to their entry-level GV62 line. While the new Intel CPU is a breath of fresh air, it is the only real change to the machine since last year. Buggy system behavior and a cheap plastic case keep the GV62 8RE from being little more than white noise.

As strong as a gorilla? Affordable and robust, that is how the Cubot King Kong presents itself. It is a 5-inch smartphone with an averagely fast SoC in a weighty, water and dust-protected case. Is this enough for the tough reality of everyday life?

Misleading first impressions. Lenovo is equipping its 2018 multimedia notebooks with 2016 processors. Even more surprising is the consistently solid concept, which does not shy away from the competition. The AMD Radeon graphics is a small highlight and one which allows for some gaming.

Reliable business partner. Today’s Latitude 7490 configuration packs a quad-core Core i5-8350U and conventional M.2 SATA storage, and it makes a few more cuts to deflate the cost a bit. Even so, this remains an impressive machine. How does this configuration stand up to its competitors?

Optimized. The Samsung DeX Pad is less a successor for the DeX Station and more an alternative product. Our review will show whether the mixture of a smaller port selection and a lower price is a good concept.

Fine-tuning. The big model of Samsung's flagship series not only offers a larger display, it also offers a dual camera and more RAM. This review reveals whether the higher price is justified and how the Galaxy S9+ fares in comparison to its competitors.

Wow, but with minor pitfalls. With the Pro version of the Mate 10 series, we currently have the strongest Huawei smartphone in our test. The storage equipment and camera have been improved, and the Chinese phone now has an OLED screen in the 2:1 format. Together with the Kirin 970, a SoC that has an additional NPU is used. Sounds great, but Huawei has made cuts in some places.

Future+. If we had to narrow down HTC to a single quality it would be innovative, and the HTC U12+ definitely fits that bill as well and is full to the brim with the latest technology. Let us find out whether or not it is as futuristic as it seems at first glance.

Lightweight performance mimosa. At just 930 grams (2.05 lbs) the touchscreen-equipped laptop seems to be the perfect business companion. We take a closer look at much more than just Swift's processor and RAM. What are the notebook's inherent compromises, and what else did Acer have to sacrifice along the way?

Hit the brakes. The Swift 3 SF315-41G is a multimedia allrounder by Acer that relies on the combination of a Raven Ridge APU and a dedicated AMD graphics unit. They are joined by an IPS display, a backlit keyboard and an NVMe-SSD. As a result, the computer is well-rounded in terms of features.

No-frills gaming. The GP63 Leopard is MSI's update of the long-lasting GP62 series. Our review laptop pairs mid-range GTX 1060 graphics with Intel's new hexa-core Coffee Lake-H CPU. How some internal design changes and the new hardware affect the performance is the subject of our review.

This cookie does not crumble. The Ulefone Armor X is a robust outdoor smartphone that brings Android Oreo. You can order the entry-level device as a Chinese import for about 200 Euros (~$232; starting from $155 in the US). In addition to the current software, this device brings all that is necessary in extreme surroundings. Our review shows how the Armor X fares in the comparison with other rugged smartphones.

Cheaper alternative. For those seeking reasonable performance and convertible flexibility but unwilling to spend the big bucks on category leaders, Lenovo's $800 Flex 6 14—equipped with its 8th-gen Core i5, MX130 GPU, and NVMe SSD—might be just the ticket.

Does bigger equal better? After the Blackview P10000 Pro recently topped our battery life leaderboard, we now have the UleFone Power 5 in for a review, which is another battery monster. The Power 5 has a huge 13,000 mAh battery that will last for a week according to UleFone. Find out in this review how the UleFone Power 5 stands up to our tests.

Small sound expert. Multimedia capabilities and good cameras are still important considerations when buying an expensive tablet. On paper, the Huawei MediaPad M5 8.4 brings all that is necessary. Find out here, whether it can convince us in the test.

Cheap price, cheap chassis. There is nothing about this VivoBook that makes it stand out from the crowded 15-inch multimedia segment. When considering the target market and inexpensive price, however, the dull impression shouldn't be a problem. We're hoping that future revisions will address the poor keyboard while adding in USB Type-C charging.

Light organ. MSI equips the GE73 8RF with a hexa-core Coffee Lake-series processor, which provides a significant increase in performance over its predecessor. The notebook smoothly runs all current computer games on its responsive 120-Hz TN panel (Full-HD).

Saved on the display. While MSI is mainly known for its gaming notebooks, it also offers very affordable entry-level and multimedia notebooks. The MSI PL62 has to prove in our test that an affordable price does not automatically mean a low performance.

Budget laptop for gamers. Powerful notebooks often come with a hefty price tag. This is not the case with the Acer Predator Helios 300. The gaming-capable version of this laptop costs only 1100 Euros ($1296). You can learn in this review how the 17-incher stacks up against the competition.

Whistle while you work. Wrapped in an attractive and slim package, the Asus ROG GU501GM is a competent gaming machine that effectively marries style and power. Unfortunately, CPU stability and fan noise present major problems in an otherwise excellent, if expensive, laptop.

The letters make all the difference. The Honor 7C is a lower mid-range smartphone in large format with a modern full-view display. Unfortunately, the dual camera's second sensor has a very low resolution. Can we take that hit in exchange for this low price?

No news. Kaby Lake CPU replaced with Kaby Lake Refresh CPU - that's pretty much the gist of Dell's latest Inspiron 15. Thanks to its fast SSD, its touchscreen, and the backlit keyboard the convertible is a pretty solid workhorse. Find out in our review whether or not it's worth Dell's asking price of $749.

On the fast lane. Dell's XPS 15 has entered a new year and we have begun by testing the entry-level model. Will the 15-inch device continue to throttle? What battery runtimes can the 97-Wh battery offer? Does the Core i5 offer sufficient performance?

Small and economical. Intel NUC Mini PC’s are known for their compact design. The new NUC generation maintains this concept, with Intel equipping them with a set of new processors too. Like a shot of adrenaline. Asus' new ROG Chimera G703GI is currently one of the fastest gaming laptops on the market. Thanks to its Core i9-8950HK and overclockable GeForce GTX 1080, even the most demanding games run fluidly. G-Sync and a 144 Hz monitor round out the package.

Good but is it better? The Moto G5 Plus impressed us in our recent review. Lenovo has now released a successor six months later with a dual rear-camera system. Can the Moto G5s Plus overcome one of the weaker points of its predecessor?

Gaming upgrade. Our exclusive review of Acer's massive fella. Equipped with a 45 W CPU and a GTX 1070 the brand-new case contains a true gaming powerhouse. The Helios 500 is the successor to the Helios 300, and while still quite hefty and bulky the new kid on the block is not as sharp-edged anymore.

Convertible without compromises. With the LifeBook P728, Fujitsu has a convertible for business users in their product line that not only includes numerous security features, but is also upgradeable. Our review clarifies what to expect from the small workhorse with Intel's Core i5-8250U processor.

If the Terminator had a smartphone ... it would probably be the WP5000 from Oukitel. With the WP5000, Oukitel offers a smartphone with a stainless steel frame and great battery life, which will prove attractive to anyone who is looking for a device that can survive in extreme environments. G as in great. Motorola advertizes the top model of the G6 series as having a brilliant camera and great performance. At a price of 300 Euros (~$355), the Moto G6 Plus has plenty to offer. What exactly that entails will be explained in our detailed review.

The Duracell bunny among the smartphones. Often smartphones from the Far East are unable to impress customers with their battery life despite having an enormous battery capacity, due to poor software adaptations under Android. This is not the case in the Blackview P10000 Pro. To say it in advance, the Blackview smartphone achieves the longest battery life we ever measured in a smartphone – and that by a large margin.

Super slim and fast. Last year's Eurocom Q5 has gotten some changes both internal and external, but it's the new processor swap that has us excited. The Eurocom Q6 offers the same GTX 1070-level graphics as its predecessor with Intel's hexa-core Coffee Lake-H CPU.

Head-turner. A convertible, where the keyboard is not what you hold in your hand after folding it back, perfectly describes the Fujitsu Lifebook T938. In this review, we analyze the Intel eighth-generation Core i business tablet's performance.

Big battery at a good price. Motorola's latest iteration of its G-series includes the mid-range Moto G6 Play smartphone at a price of around $200. With its 13 MP camera and its Snapdragon SoC it seems to be positioned fairly competitively. Let us find out how well it did in our test.

Ryzen 3 undervolted. Dell has equipped its 5000 series with a heavily-throttled Ryzen 3 chip, a dark, low-contrast screen and a storage device that clicks annoyingly. Was this clumsiness or intention?

Too much Office, not enough Workstation. The ZBook 1xu series is at the lower end of HP workstation devices. These models are based on the EliteBook to save costs. Find out in this review of the ZBook 15u G5 why this concept still doesn’t work.

In terms of SSDs, Samsung has been a market leader for years and regularly updates its own, at this point, very extensive portfolio. With the new SSD 970 Evo, it targets businesses and private customers who are looking for a high-performance M.2 SSD. Our test confirms the high performance of the new model and also shows the distance to the competitors.

Young and affordable. The Huawei Y7 2018 is a phablet with a 5.99-inch display. As the newest member of the Y series, the Y7 2018 has the job of upholding the ethos of being cheap with few compromises over features or camera hardware. Find out in this review whether the Huawei Y7 2018 succeeds in upholding the character of the predecessors.

Affordable long distance runner. For a price of 200 Euros ($234), Gigaset is offering an entry level smartphone which is equipped with a 5000 mAh battery. It should not come as a surprise that the GS270 achieves a long battery life with that. We evaluate in our test what the interested buyer can expect beyond this.

Simple office notebook. Acer’s 15.6-inch laptop scores some major points with its hardware combination of a powerful Ryzen 3 2200U APU, a fast SSD and 8 GB of dual-channel RAM. However, the screen and thermal performance disappoint.

Notebookcheck.com tests the Gigaset GS270 Plus, a smartphone powered by a MediaTek MT6750 and an ARM Mali-T860 MP2. The 5.2-inch device has 3 GB RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. The GS270 Plus is available off contract.

Privacy screen at the touch of a button.When it comes to Hewlett Packard's top-of-the-line model from their EliteBook 840 G5 series, the manufacturer is not fiddling about. On board you will find a very bright IPS display with a privacy screen, an LTE modem, 32 GB of RAM and an NVMe SSD. HP appears to have set their sights somewhat lower in terms of battery life—some of the competition has more to offer here.

Insider tip. The Chinese electronics manufacturer, which was known in the past mainly for its smartphones, now offers a powerful high-end notebook for its home market. The Mi Gaming Laptop scores with an especially good price-performance ratio. For less than 1500 Euros (~$1732), you can get a GeForce GTX 1060, a quad-core-CPU, and a Full HD panel. Is it worth importing?

Flexibility for $280. The Flex 6 11 tries to be both an inexpensive Windows tablet and a laptop all at once. It does the job decently enough for a Celeron-based system, but the subpar display leaves a lot to be desired even at this low price range.

Affordable office worker. Expensive laptops are in vogue but spending a lot of money on a notebook is not suitable for everyone. Hence, manufacturers bring budget workhorse devices to the market, like the Dell Latitude 3490. Find out in this review whether Dell has succeeded with their new budget Latitude.

A smartphone for fans of design? The Nokia 8 Sirocco has an unusual name and unusual looks. Can the high-end phone please the crowd or is mainly interesting for fans of design? Let us find out in our review.

First League. A Snapdragon 845 SoC, up to 8 GB of RAM, a dual camera system, and a 6-inch display - with its first-rate equipment, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S enters the direct competition against the top dogs such as the Apple iPhone X. Our test shows whether the current Xiaomi flagship can really stir up the smartphone high-end.

Little number 1. The Nokia 1 is the entry-level model into the world of smartphones: under 100 Euros (~$115), a small format, and even a replaceable battery. Find out in this review whether the Nokia 1 is good enough for everyday use.

Starter gamer. Asus has made its inexpensive FX series even more affordable by reducing the battery capacity, GPU power, and number of ports. The end result is definitely easier on the wallet, but the TN display and primary HDD drag down the system.

Based on the EliteBook. The HP ZBook series has been updated to Intel Kaby Lake Refresh processors. HP has also significantly changed the design and is one which we have already seen during our recent EliteBook 840 G5 review. Praiseworthy six cores. Gigabyte equipped the 2018 version of the Aorus X5 with a hexa-core CPU belonging to Intel's Coffee Lake series. The CPU is accompanied by a GeForce GTX 1070 and a 144 Hz display. Find out in our review whether the 15-inch laptop is on a par with other gaming devices.

Lots of screen for little money. The Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus offers a large display and a mid-range performance for less than 200 Euros (~$236). This sounds like a good offer, but let us look more closely in our test!

Advanced flight simulation. The X-Plane series is a stalwart in the commercial flight simulation market, and X-Plane 11 marks the latest iteration. It uses an advanced physics engine that mixes hard-coded data with aerodynamics to simulate realistic flight. When cranking up the settings the engine is heavily taxing on the graphics card and processor, which is particularly notable for its reliance on single-threaded CPU performance. The scope and scale of the game make it an ideal candidate for assessing system performance.

Budget Gaming. Lenovo’s budget-priced gaming notebooks start at €700 (~$817). While these basic variants are not that powerful, they should still be enough for some gamers. In this review, we will be looking at the Lenovo Legion Y520-15IKBA, a 15.6-inch notebook that is equipped with an Intel Core i5-7300HQ processor and an AMD Radeon RX 560 dedicated graphics card.

The object of desire? The smartphone-pioneer HTC first brought its Desire series to the market almost eight years ago. Since then, the Desire series has fallen off the map. Now the HTC Desire 12 tries to find some new fans. In our review, we examine whether the 199-Euro (~$234) dual-SIM smartphone with a 5.5-inch display and Android 7 is any good.

With their new Optane drives, Intel is introducing potential competition for classic NAND SSDs. The Optane SSD 800P is the manufacturer's first drive for consumers with enough space to store an entire operating system and all the user's programs. In our tests, the technology once again revealed its potential—but its concrete usefulness is dubious.

Pure Android at a fair price. The Xiaomi Mi A1 is the European version of the Mi 5X. Equipped with LTE band 20 and Android One, for a low price, it offers not only regular and timely security updates but also a two-year update warranty on the security patches.

Market disruptor. Huawei wants to prove that you don't need to spend $1500 or more for a decently specced XPS 13 or MacBook Pro. The MateBook X Pro attempts to give it all with an attractively thin aluminum design, 3:2 touchscreen, discrete Nvidia graphics, Thunderbolt 3, and an Intel U class CPU for less than what major competitors are currently offering.

Still affordable. The Huawei Y6 2018 is a device that has a lot of power for the money. The device looks modern and has a decent display, but can it be crowned the king of budget devices?

Smarter business? One of the best business ultrabooks gets even more powerful with the adoption of an 8th-generation Core i7-8650U CPU and NVMe SSD—as well as an honest-to-goodness anti-glare touchscreen.
