Lenovo recently launched the affordable IdeaPad 5 with Ryzen 4000 processors, and now it has done the same with the IdeaPad 3. Available in 14-inch and 15.6-inch variants with up to a Ryzen 7 4700U, the new IdeaPad 3 series starts at €369.00 (~US$400).

45 W Renoir processors are heading to this year's HP OMEN 15, as are multiple NVIDIA GPUs and a complete redesign. Sporting up to a Ryzen 7 4800H and RTX 2060, the HP OMEN 15-en0xxx may give the Zephyrus G14 a run for its money.

A report by China Times indicates that Asus, MSI, and Gigabyte-leading Taiwanese OEMs-are all trying to clear their inventory of NVIDIA GeForce RTX 20 series Turing cards to make way for the arrival of the RTX 3080 and RTX 3070 in Q3 2020.

The upcoming quad-core AMD Ryzen 3 3100 CPU has been doing the rounds on synthetic benchmarks lately, where overclocked samples have been chalking up some serious scores thanks to the additional voltage being pumped into them. The fastest clock rate recorded by the Ryzen 3 3100 in these particular tests was 4.60 GHz on Geekbench 5.

Rumour has it that AMD will be bringing up to 505 mm² dies to its next-generation "Big Navi" GPUs. Based on the company's RDNA 2 architecture, Navi 21, Navi 22 and Navi 23 all supposedly have larger dies than the RX 5700 XT. The Navi 21 has a larger die than the custom RDNA 2 GPU in the Xbox Series X, too.

The AMD Ryzen 3 3300X has been spotted on 3DMark’s Fire Strike racking up a healthy Physics Score that should please anyone considering a future purchase of this budget desktop CPU. The Ryzen 3 3300X managed to surpass the upcoming Intel Core i3-10300 and scored higher than the Intel Core i7-7700K that we have tested several times.

Lenovo has started selling the IdeaPad 5 laptop with a Ryzen 4000 APU from AMD inside it. The 14-inch model with an AMD Ryzen 5 4500U can be had for a price starting at US$649.99 in the US, while shoppers in the UK can go for a cheaper 15-inch variant with the Ryzen 3 4300U chip from £404.99 (US$501). Lenovo customers in Germany are spoiled for choice.

An AMD Ryzen 3 3300X and an Intel Core i3-10300 have been spotted in a comparison on 3DMark’s Time Spy benchmark. In another blow for Team Blue, it appears that the new budget Matisse chip from AMD has the edge on the upcoming Comet Lake processor. The Ryzen 3 3300X managed a CPU score that was +3.3% over the i3-10300's result.

Dell has not yet officially announced any Renoir-based laptops, and rumor has it that we will not only see Renoir-based laptops, but models powered by the Renoir successor codenamed Cezanne, as well, next year. Cezanne will get a Navi23-based iGPU and is supposed to be AMD's answer to Intel's Tiger Lake-H. Dell's Cezanne-H laptops will additionally feature high-quality FHD and QHD displays with high refresh rates.

Xbox boss Phil Spencer recently hinted in a tweet that the next Xbox Series X preview stream may focus on game titles. It is speculated that this event should be streamed in early May, while a later stream scheduled for June is likely to unveil details for the lower-priced Xbox Series S console.

Nvidia and AMD have picked up any spare capacity on TSMC’s 7nm foundry as the companies ready their next generational GPUs. The report comes from Taiwanese rag Digitimes that says the new orders will help to ensure TSMC posts relatively strong results compared with its competition.

The CPU and GPU clocks appear to be quite low compared to mobility models like the Ryzen 7 4700U, but the "Artic" chip proves to be faster, at least in CPU-related tests, and the DDR4-3200 support certainly helped. However, that SKU is not seen in the PSREF indicating that it may have been shelved mid-way. The PSREF spec sheets also seem to indicate the Legion 5 SKUs powered Ryzen 4000 as having nearly double the battery life compared to their Comet Lake-H counterparts.

The budget AMD Ryzen 3 3300X Matisse desktop processor has been tested on Geekbench 4 in combination with an ASRock X470 Gaming-ITX/ac motherboard. The new CPU has thrown up a single-core score and multi-core score that can beat the median scores for the thousands of Intel Core i7-7700K that have appeared on the same benchmark.

Microsoft has revealed the specifications required to power its all-new Flight Simulator on PC. In a pleasant surprise, a PC with mid-range specs from 2013 will be able to play it, but a higher end rig from 2019 will be best placed to demonstrate everything the game has to offer visually.

An AMD Ryzen 3 3100 CPU has been spotted on Geekbench being put through its paces, and the new Matisse processor performed well considering its entry-level status. The scores it achieved are similar to those of the Kaby Lake Intel Core i7-7700K, which could indicate the Zen 2 chip’s ability to hold up well against the upcoming Intel Core i3-10100.

While NVIDIA has brought its RTX 20 SUPER mobile GPUs to new Intel Comet Lake-H laptops, Frank Azor has confirmed that there will be no Ryzen 4000 series laptops with the RTX 2070 or better any time. As expected, Intel-powered machines will remain the gaming laptops of choice for 2020.

AMD has introduced two new mainstream desktop processors in the Zen 2 lineup — the Ryzen 3 3100 and the Ryzen 3 3300X alongside the new B550 mid-range chipset. These CPUs are 4C/8T 65W parts and help fill the void in the US$100 to US$150 range. However, they face competition from AMD's own Ryzen 5 1600 AF and upcoming Renoir Ryzen 4000 desktop CPUs.

Our first Core i5-10300H retail unit is in and, naturally, we've benchmarked the hell out of it. How does Intel's least expensive 10th gen Comet Lake-H CPU compare to the competing AMD Ryzen 7 3750H or Intel's own Core i5-9300H and Core i5-8300H?

Not only is Asus planning on bringing the NVIDIA GeForce MX350 to Renoir processors like the Ryzen 7 4700U, but it is also keen on doing the same with Intel's upcoming Tiger Lake-U series architecture. Coming in the form of a refreshed VivoBook 14, the Core i7-1165G7 and MX350 will be offered alongside Ryzen 5 4500U and Ryzen 7 4700U models.

Acer's compact multimedia-gaming laptop, the Nitro 5, has been updated earlier this month with the newest Intel CPUs and Nvidia GPUs. Today, Acer announced that the new Nitro 5 2020 will also feature AMD Renoir. Unfortunately though, the best GPU option will be reserved for the Intel model.

A user over on the Chiphell overclocked a dual socket engineering sample setup of the AMD EPYC Rome 7742, topping the Corona benchmark and leaving Intel's Xeon Platinum 8280L in the dust.

Even the Ryzen 7 4700U can outperform modern Core i9 H-series processors, according to PassMark. Similarly, the 35 W Ryzen 4000HS series processors hand out a whupping to Comet Lake-H processors like the Core i9-10980HK. We are yet to see what the Ryzen 9 4900H has to offer, either.

The AMD-only 2020 MSI Bravo series will supplant the 2019 Alpha series. The new Renoir CPUs and thinner chassis design should attract gamers on tight budgets that may have otherwise chosen an Intel-Nvidia alternative with GTX 1650 or GTX 1660 Ti graphics instead.

Both the Intel Core i5-10600K and Core i5-10600KF processors have been spotted on Geekbench managing to reach peak frequencies of 4.98 GHz. The attractive single-core and multi-core scores posted by the Comet Lake processors can rival the median Geekbench results managed by the AMD Ryzen 5 3600 and Ryzen 5 3600X.

Renoir is walking over Intel at the moment, making AMD laptops with NVIDIA GPUs a viable possibility again. Pairing the Ryzen 7 4700U with a GeForce MX350 is not what we had in mind though, Asus.

Microsoft’s next major update to Windows 10 will land in May. The new update brings some useful features to users including Cloud reset as well as the much anticipated DirectX 12 Ultimate with improved raytracing support.

UserBenchmark has received a significant blow today with the news that it has been banned from a major subreddit. The moderators of r/hardware, which has over 1.1 million members, have made the decision that threads regarding the oft-maligned benchmark have no value and simply generate drama. Posts or links in regard to UserBenchmark will no longer be allowed.
UserBenchmark has now also been banned by r/Intel, while r/AMD has issued a restriction.

An Intel Core i7-10700K processor has been spotted on Geekbench throwing out some good numbers in both the single-core test and the multi-core test. The Comet Lake chip also managed to surpass a 5 GHz clock rate during testing. However, its strong multi-core score is still short of what AMD’s older Ryzen 7 3800X has managed.

On the look out for a new GPU that fits your small form factor PC? Well, the RX 5500 XT from ASRock could be your best bet. Packing 8 GB of GDDR6 VRAM running at 14 Gbps and a Navi 14 GPU that clocks up to 1,845 MHz, then RX 5500 XT Challenger ITX 8G should outperform those GDDR6 GTX 1650 refreshes.

AMD is keeping to its promise about its support for the AM4 socket. Confirmed by XMG, the ageing socket will support Ryzen 4000 desktop processors. The B450 chipset will get to taste Vermeer too, as will probably the X470 and X570 chipsets too. The Ryzen 4000 desktop series is expected to land in Q3 2020.

[Update: AMD Legion 5 will start at $759 USD] The AMD version will save you almost $100 over the Intel version, but it'll be missing a few GPU and display features in the process.

AMD is emerging as one of the largest clients for TSMC, as team red has already secured 5 nm production allocations for the upcoming Zen 4 CPUs launching in 2021. The 5 nm node is still expected to go online this quarter, but advancements with the 3 nm nodes may be pushed back by half a year due to the global pandemic.

The Renoir-powered Envy x360 15 will start at $700 USD compared to $850 USD for the 10th gen Intel Ice Lake option. If the trend continues, then it will become easier to recommend the AMD option especially since the 7 nm Ryzen 4000U series has been so promising thus far.

A Comet Lake Intel Core i5-10600 sample has been spotted on UserBenchmark, where it managed an “outstanding” bench result and scored particularly highly in the single-core test. However, even though its overall score is lower than the average total score of the AMD Ryzen 5 3600, the Intel chip was awarded a higher benchmark percentage.

HP is bringing 45 W Renoir processors to its OMEN 15 laptops. Spotted on benchmarking websites and support documentation, the 15-en0xxx will offer at least either the Ryzen 5 4600H or Ryzen 7 4800H. Multiple NVIDIA GPUs are likely in the pipeline too, with the GTX 1660 Ti having already been confirmed.

The ASUS TUF Gaming A15 is now shipping and for as little as US$999.99. The Ryzen 7 4800H-powered machine has a 15.6-inch 144 Hz panel, but there is also the 17.3-inch A17 if you would like something larger.

The first Ryzen 3000 Picasso APUs have just been added to mini PC offerings from ASRock and Zotac and it may take up to one year for the freshly released Ryzen 4000 Renoir processors to make it into small form-factor PCs. Prominent OEMs like Dell, Asus and MSI do not even offer any AMD-based mini PCs.

A 10-core Intel Core i9-10900F desktop processor has been spotted as part of an HP system on Geekbench, where it racked up strong single-core and multi-core scores. Unfortunately for the upcoming Comet Lake chip, its multi-core score lagged behind the result we recorded for an AMD Ryzen 9 4900HS in an Asus Zephyrus G14 laptop.

Expect Ryzen 7 4800U and Ryzen 5 4600U-powered Lenovo laptops, and expect them to crush whatever Intel is offering. Posted on the company's Weibo account, Lenovo has already shown what the two Ryzen 4000 series APUs are capable of.

Schenker has chosen a similar path to Huawei and has equipped its VIA 15 with two Ryzen models from AMD instead of offering a wide range of CPUs. This means that the device is tuned to the chip so well that the Ryzen 5 3500U in our test unit reaches its full potential.

A Canadian retailer has published the prices for the upcoming Comet Lake-S processors Intel Core i9-10900, Intel Core i7-10700K, and Intel Core i7-10700. The parts are similarly priced, at least with this particular outlet, to their Coffee Lake predecessors. However, it seems AMD Matisse processors could still offer users a decent price/performance edge.

Owning the latest AMD Renoir processor will cost you a couple hundred dollars more than your typical gaming laptop powered by the GeForce RTX 2060. Asus first teased the Zephyrus G15 and its brand new 35 W AMD Ryzen 7 CPU back at CES 2020.

The upcoming Intel Core i9-10900K processor has been spotted speeding along on Geekbench 5, reaching a maximum frequency of 5.08 GHz. The Comet Lake chip in combination with an MSI Z490-S01 motherboard racked up a very strong single-core score but still stuttered behind the AMD Ryzen 9 3900X in the multi-core test.

A new Intel Core i9-10980HK processor has been spotted in a Gigabyte Aorus 17X YB laptop on Geekbench 5. The chip managed a single-core score of 1,352 points and a multi-core score of 8,386 points. The results are very similar to those of an AMD Ryzen 7 4800H in an Asus TUF Gaming laptop, but the Comet Lake processor can rely on a much higher power draw than the Renoir APU.

When Lenovo announced the new 2020 ThinkPad lineup in late February, the addition of Thunderbolt 3 to the AMD versions of the new ThinkPad T14, ThinkPad T14s and ThinkPad X13 was big news. Two months later and close to the release of the new devices, it turns out that the initial spec-sheet was wrong: Thunderbolt remains Intel-exclusive.

A new report has stated that AMD’s highly anticipated Vermeer family of Ryzen 4000 desktop processors could be released around September this year. The latest series of AMD desktop CPUs is based on Zen 3 microarchitecture, with the chips expected to be manufactured on an improved 7nm+ process. AMD CEO Lisa Su has already hinted at this release timeframe.
