Alienware’s Aurora desktop gaming rigs have been popular for good reason -- they offer a good balance between design, performance and price. The new Alienware Aurora R11 Intel-based rigs and updated Aurora R10 Ryzen Edition models are here and come with Nvidia’s vaunted new RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 GPUs. For those wanting to experience Nvidia’s latest GPU technology, they are not a bad way to get a hold of the new cards without having to wait in line for a standalone card.
As is often the case, Alienware has opted for a custom GPU design tailored to the specific architecture of their rig. In this case, these are the most compact RTX 3080 and 3090 cards that we have seen so far and will undoubtedly catch the eye of micro ATX fans. They are just 267 mm (10.5 inches) long and 2.5 PCIe slots wide. They also use a standard 8-pin connector and incorporate a custom 10 mm heat pipe and vapor chamber design with dual-fans.
If you opt for an Intel-based Aurora R11, you can fit it with up to 10th gen Intel Core i9-10900KF 10-core CPU, up to 128 GB of 3200 MHz dual-channel DDR4 RAM, a 2 TB M.2 and 2 TB 7,200 RPM HDD with prices starting from US$2,430 for an RTX 3080-equipped model. An AMD Ryzen-based Aurora R10 can be fitted with up to a Ryzen 9 3950X 16-core CPU with up to 64 GB of dual-channel 3200 MHz DDR4 RAM and 2 TB 7,200 RPM HDD. Prices for an RTX 3080 model in this instance start slightly lower at US$2,180.
Both the Alienware Aurora R11 and R10 with RTX 30XX series GPUs are available for order now in either the Dark Side of the Moon (black) or Light Light (gray)
