We had many good things to say about the Alienware m15 R3 last year, particularly with respect to its vapor chamber cooling. At CES 2021, Dell is refreshing the Alienware m15 to include Comet Lake-H and NVIDIA Ampere mobile GPUs.
The Alienware m15 R4 offers a choice of Intel 10th gen Core i7-10870H and Core i9-10980HK processor options along with RAM options ranging from 8 GB to 32 GB. Buyers also get to choose from a range of single and RAID storage configurations adding up to a total of 4 TB of PCIe NVMe storage.
Dell said that the Alienware m15 R4 uses 66 fan blades each for the CPU and the GPU with the former also getting a vapor chamber for added cooling efficiency. Irrespective of the configuration, Dell has endowed the m15 R4 with a 6-phase VRM design for the CPU and a 12-phase design for the GPU.
Display options include a 15.6-inch FHD LCD or a 4K OLED panel. The OLED panel supports HDR500 and sports a 1 ms response time, 400 nits brightness while also offering Tobii eyetracking and 100% DCI-P3 coverage.
The Alienware m15 R4 will be available from January 26 at prices starting from US$2,149.99.
