With just a week to go before AMD's Big Navi reveal, NVIDIA announced 12 DLSS and RTX-enabled games, including sandbox epic Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord. The timing is interesting, considering the concerns about AMD's hardware ray-tracing capabilities.

NVIDIA recently announced 12 games set to receive DLSS and RTX support. Some of these titles, like Cyberpunk 2077, had their DLSS and RTX features announced earlier. This announcement, however, highlights a number of new titles, including Dark Souls-esque Mortal Shell and Mount and Blade: Bannerlord. Here's a full list of the DLSS and RTX-enabled titles NVIDIA talked about:

  • Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War
  • Cyberpunk 2077
  • Watch Dogs: Legion
  • Edge of Eternity
  • Enlisted
  • Ghostrunner
  • Mortal Shell
  • Mount and Blade: Bannerlord
  • Pumpkin Jack
  • Ready or Not
  • Xuan Yuan 7

The timing of this announcement is very interesting. AMD is set to launch its Big Navi lineup on October 28th. Recent leaks indicate that the top-end Radeon RX 6900 XT could match or outperform the GeForce RTX 3090 in certain raster workloads.

However, those same sources claim that ray-tracing performance on Big Navi isn't on par with Ampere. Moreover, we've yet to hear anything concrete from AMD regarding AI-based upscaling technology like DLSS.

While Big Navi could offer better raster performance, superior ray-tracing and near-lossless AI upscaling in major titles like Cyberpunk 2077 and Bannerlord could offer gamers a compelling reason to stick with Ampere (assuming the supply situation improves).
