The confirmed OnePlus 8T Cyberpunk 2077 Edition has a launch date

OnePlus' CEO has reportedly affirmed via Weibo that the Cyberpunk 2077-themed special edition of the 8T premium smartphone will launch in China on November 2, 2020. Little is known about this device, except the obvious point that it has a new brand partner. There are hints that it will share the style of the game's teasers thus far.

The launch of the hotly anticipated multi-platform open-worlder Cyberpunk 2077 may have been delayed (again); however, the OnePlus flagship refresh based on it is not. The OEM has announced that it will forge ahead with the unveiling of this new special-edition 8T, which will take place in China in November 2020.

The company's CEO, Pete Lau, has reportedly posted a teaser for this phone on his Weibo account. Accordingly, fans may expect a version of the 8T with a new main color (black) paired with violently yellow accents. Some of them may run along the bottom edge of the phone in a manner reminiscent of the now-defunct McLaren-branded series of OnePlus' older flagships.

This new version's pricing and specs are less certain at this point. Currently, it is speculated that the Cyberpunk 2077 edition will be a single top-end 12GB RAM/256GB internal storage SKU. It may also come with a version of this OEM's Android skin (HydrogenOS, for the Chinese market) further customized to match the game.
