OnePlus 8T attracts 100 million yuan (US$14.9 million) in sales in a single minute thanks to a Snapdragon 865, 65 W fast charging, and fine looks
If OnePlus had any concerns about how the OnePlus 8T was going to perform when it finally went on sale then it’s safe to say those concerns would have vanished by now. Not only did the new Snapdragon 865-powered smartphone pick up sales worth 100 million yuan (US$14.9 million) in one minute, it also only took a further nine minutes to double that amount, thus making 200 million yuan (US$29.9 million) in 10 minutes.
The OnePlus 8T is currently available to Chinese shoppers in two configurations: 8 GB + 128 GB and 12 GB + 256 GB. The former is priced at 3,399 yuan (US$508) and the latter costs 3,699 yuan (US$553). This means it took OnePlus just 10 minutes to sell anywhere between 50,000 and 60,000 units of the OnePlus 8T, which is no mean feat.
Along with the attractive specs, which also include UFS 3.1 storage, quad-cam setup with 48 MP main sensor, 5G connectivity, and a decent-sized battery at 4,500 mAh, the OnePlus 8T also packs a punch with its looks. Narrow bezels, a flat display, and a choice of striking colors between aquamarine green and lunar silver have helped the OnePlus 8T already become a sales champion to be reckoned with.
