The CPU-Z benchmark results for the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X Zen 3 are out and everything looks impressive: 11% faster than the Intel Core i9-10900K and 25% faster than the AMD Ryzen 7 3800X in single-core, as well as 10% slower than the Core i9-10900K and 17% faster than the Ryzen 7 3800XT when all cores are being used.

Intel might have been the single-threaded performance king for decades, but that title is no longer safe, either. The octa-core AMD Ryzen 7 5800X Zen 3 processor is expected to be one of the fastest gaming chips in the Ryzen 5000 lineup and the recently leaked CPU-Z benchmarks show that this statement is true.

The platform used to test the aforementioned processor consists of the Gigabyte B550M AORUS PRO mainboard, paired with 32 GB DDR4 memory set at 2,348 MHz and CL 17 timing. The results? As you can see below, we are talking about a single-core performance gain of no less than 25% when compared to the AMD Ryzen 7 3800X, and even 11% when placing the Ryzen 7 5800X next to the deca-core 5.3 GHz single-core boosted Intel Core i9-10900K. However, things change a bit when we take the multi-threaded tests into account that use 16 threads: in this case, the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X is 18% faster than the Ryzen 7 3800X but the Intel Core i9-10900K takes the lead with an advantage of 10%.

With a TDP of 105 W, the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X features 36 MB of L2+L3 cache, a base clock speed of 3.8 GHz and 4.7 GHz when the boost kicks in. It should arrive on the market next week for a price of US$449.
