ARM unveils Matterhorn and 64-bit-only Makalu Cortex-A cores scheduled for 2021 and 2022, respectively

ARM is projecting up to 30% increased performance gains over the Cortex-X1 cores by the time the Makalu generation releases in 2022. TSMC to implement gate-all-around (GAAFET) transistors on the 2 nm nodes by 2023

TSMC surprised everyone when it announced that its 3 nm nodes will not use GAAFET transistors. Meanwhile, the Taiwanese foundries decided to speed up the release of the 2 nm nodes, which will finally adopt the GAAFET design. Still, the N2 nodes will only become operational by mid-2023, allowing Samsung to get the edge with its 3 nm GAAFET nodes by late 2021. Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G launched with new Adreno 619 GPU, Kryo 570 cores, and more

Qualcomm has launched a new mid-range 5G-ready SoC called the Snapdragon 750G. It comes with Qualcomm's latest Kryo 540 CPU cores and supports both mmwave and sub-6GHz 5G networks, 120Hz FHD+ displays, and more. The chip is expected to make its debut alongside a Xiaomi smartphone in the coming weeks.

Alleged Xiaomi Mi 11 Geekbench scores show above 20% performance gains over the Mi 10 thanks to the 5nm Snapdragon 875

Supposed Geekbench results for the Xiaomi Mi 11 smartphone have appeared online. According to the scores, which might be fake, the future flagship that is possibly slated for an early 2021 launch managed to amply surpass the Xiaomi Mi 10 in both single-core and multi-core tests with the help of its rumored 5nm Snapdragon 875 chip.
