Refusal to compromise… You can’t have it all—or can you? Dell’s latest XPS 13 pushes the envelope in a number of different critical categories, but most notably portability: this is the smallest 13.3-inch notebook we’ve reviewed. Could we be witnessing the best ultraportable to date?

Evolution instead of revolution. The Dell Latitude is equipped with Intel's latest CPU generation Broadwell and wants to get the top spot in the business segment, currently occupied by the Lenovo ThinkPad T440s. What are the advantages of the modern 14-nm technology for the user and does the 14-inch notebook have any other highlights – we tested it.

Ultrabook Convertible. Dell’s Latitude 13 7350 is a mixture of an Ultrabook, a tablet and a convertible. The combination of silent operation, good keyboard and long battery runtimes make it a companion for business users.

Quality for little money? Asus wants to put the competition under pressure with affordable business laptops and equips its new 14-inch flagship with the currently fastest ULV processor, plenty of working memory, and a swift SSD to accomplish that. We will reveal why it is nevertheless not enough for first place in the category.

Deceptive. Slim and good-looking business laptops are possible nowadays. The non-glare touchscreen of Fujitsu's Lifebook U574 is rare, though. Is it only smoke and mirrors or a solid business subnotebook that meets all fundamental criteria?

Acer's All-in-One. Notebook, tablet or All-in-One PC, the Acer R13 meets almost all the requirements. Thanks to the new Ezel Aero Hinges, the device can be used in many operating modes and is also really fast with its two turbo SSDs in a RAID 0 configuration and Intel's i7 processor.

Surprise from the second row. Asus wants to attack the established business competition with its new 12.5-inch subnotebook. The AsusPro BU201LA can not only impress with its great Full HD display, but also with an excellent keyboard and a solid build quality – and all that for a surprisingly low price. What is the catch?

Performance goes up, energy consumption goes down? After a several-month delay, Intel has finally released the fifth incarnation of their "Core" architecture, codenamed Broadwell. It's even coming on the market this year -- at least in a few machines. Initially, the new, extremely low-energy Core M series will only be used in the improved 14 nm manufacturing process. Is it a dream come true? Can we now expect to see high-performance, passively cooled Windows tablets?

Symbiosis. A powerful notebook does not have to be bulky and loud if it can also be dignified, subtle and quiet. Why pretentious and not understated? Asus thinks it knows what wealthy customers want and creates an Ultrabook that combines performance and elegance in a simple yet sophisticated chassis. Can this symbiosis really set new records in every category, just as Asus promises?

Alluring. Asus aims at tech enthusiasts with its new 15-inch Zenbook generation. The flat aluminum unibody houses a standard-voltage i7 processor paired with an upper middle-class Nvidia graphics card. The highlight of this model seems to be the 4K panel. It offers high resolutions, great colors, high contrast and wide viewing angles. Is this the winner?

Often imitated, never duplicated. Lenovo was a first-mover in the 360-degree hinge segment, but they’re not content to rest on their laurels. Brillant. Acer's smallest convertible is now available with a Full-HD display. The price difference is only 30 Euro (~$37) and seems to be well worth it. Multimode MultimediaThe ASUS Transformer Book Flip TP300L we're testing here, the 13.3-inch version, has high-end Ultrabook-style specifications in a stylish convertible design. With Core i7, 8GB RAM Full HD touch and a discreet Nvidia GPU, this could be a 2-in-1 worth seeking-out.

Finger friendly. As of now, Toshiba's Portégé Z30-A is also available as a touchscreen version with IPS panel and Full HD resolution. We reveal whether the extra charge is worth paying and which additional features the 13-inch ultrabook has to offer.

Weary business tablet. More than one year ago, we tested a Windows 8 tablet made by Fujitsu, which - among other things thanks to its keyboard dock - was supposed to appeal to business customers. Now, its successor has arrived - but unfortunately, not all changes are for the better.

Reshaping the Surface. Microsoft’s latest Surface is thinner, lighter, sexier, and even more versatile than before. Has the world finally met the successor to the modern laptop?

Slim aluminum. Yet another offshoot of the Asus Zenbook product line is to attract quality-conscious customers who also value high mobility. An energy-saving Haswell CPU alongside its integrated graphics, paired with a high-capacity battery, and an ultra-thin aluminum casing - is that enough for a new record in terms of endurance and battery runtime?

Heart transplant. The new Apple MacBook Air 13 Mid 2014 is once again an evolution instead of a revolution, because there are not many differences compared to the last version. We focus on the inner values. A new Intel Core i5-4260U Haswell CPU clocked at 1.4 GHz in combination with 4 GB RAM and a large 256 GB SSD. Sounds appealing.

Silent Temptation. The HP Pro X2 410 is not a basic 2-in-1. It’s running a Core i5 CPU, has a fast SSD and is completely fanless. This is a ground-breaking setup, but does it work?

Beautiful without frills. Acer now offers a premium business notebook with the TravelMate P645. We check if the new Ultrabook flagship can compete with the premium devices from the competition.

More pixels. After the WXGA version of the ThinkPad X240 showed its qualities in our review, we now have a look at the high-end version with a Full HD display. But are the additional pixels really worth the premium price?

Model with flaws. Thin, elegant, noble – and expensive. The latest Ultrabook from Samsung's popular ATIV 9-series has high ambitions and cannot only convince with its design. Unfortunately, there are some drawbacks as well that prevent a very good rating, although the most annoying issue could be solved with a simple update.

Expensive = good? Buyers prepared to invest around 1500 Euros (~$2054) in a premium ultrabook will now find another alternative to Apple & co. in the new Toshiba Kira-101. We will reveal why it is not class best despite a speedy Core i7 processor, magnesium casing, and WQHD screen.

A real head-turner. Fujitsu puts a new convertible on the market that woos deep-pocketed business customers with a ULV Core i7, QHD touchscreen, security features and LTE support.
