A phone from the OEM Vivo with the model number V1821A has appeared on Geekbench. This device is likely to be the upcoming Vivo Nex 2, as it packs the Snapdragon 845 which lines up with other leaks about the phone. The phone posted a respectable result, which also revealed its 10GB of RAM.

Snapdragon 6150 pops up on Geekbench, shaping up to be a decent mid-ranger

The chip currently known as the Snapdragon 6150, which could be the 675's successor, has appeared on Geekbench incorporated into an unnamed reference device. It is an octa-core chip, as expected, and runs at 1.8GHz. The 6150 posted a single-core score of over 2500 and a multi-core score of over 5400.

Users have reportedly discovered that iCloud stops working on laptops updated to the latest version of Windows (1809). This prevents syncing or uploading to the service. New installs of iCloud may also fail due to a lack of compatibility. Microsoft has announced a collaboration with Apple to fix the problem.

SK Hynix has published a press release to announce the development of 16 Gb DDR5 DRAM, the first in the industry that meets JEDEC standards. The South Korean memory manufacturer has managed to lower the operating voltage for the DDR5 DRAM in comparison to DDR4. The new generation of DRAM is also considerably faster than its predecessor.

Adoptable Storage is a feature introduced with Android 6.0 (Marshmallow). It allows a phone to effectively turn a microSD card into its own internal storage. Some brands still allow Adoptable Storage in their stock ROMs, but Samsung is not one of them. However, it now seems that it is coming back in future updates that involve Pie (9.0).

UFS 3.0 storage coming next year, LPDDR5 in 2020

Although both were supposed to enter production in the second half of this year, it looks like the next-gen UFS storage solutions and LPDDR5 will not hit the market as soon as expected. While the UFS 3.0 memory will arrive in the first half of next year, the LPDDR5 DRAM chips will only roll out — if everything works as planned, obviously — in 2020.

DDR5 RAM production postponed for end of 2019

The first desktop and laptop DDR5 RAM modules are now expected to be released at some point in 2020, as JEDEC has not yet finalized the hardware specs for the DDR5 standard. What we know for sure about the DDR5 RAM is that it will feature at least double the bandwidth, 4800 MT/s and later on 6400 MT/s speeds, plus independent 40-bit channels per module.
