We could soon see AMD launch its 400-series chipset close to Ryzen 2000's launch early next year. Existing 300-series boards will, however, continue to be compatible with the next generation Ryzen CPUs.

A few new listings on Acer's website detail two new models of the Swift 3, both equipped with Ryzen mobile CPUs. One laptop sports the Ryzen 5 2500U and the other, the Ryzen 7 2700U. These are among the first notebooks to use AMD's new CPUs.

An apparent product slide leak shows 35 W and 65 W mobile Ryzen processors coming in spring 2018 to compete against Intel's HQ and HK series. This leak is a rumor and details haven't been confirmed by AMD.

Leaked slides, which are claimed to be genuine AMD material, show core and thread count for the upcoming 2700, 2800, and 2800X, as well as the frequencies that they run at. You can expect these new Ryzen processors to start shipping from 1st February 2018.

AMD announced its partnership with Qualcomm to integrate the latter's X16 LTE modem on Ryzen APUs, thereby, bringing always-on LTE connectivity to high-performance notebooks.

The Vega 11 GPU core will only be featured in upcoming Raven Ridge APUs and will not be released as budget versions of the Vega 56/64 GPUs. These should bring a notable performance boost over the Ryzen 5 2500U chips that integrate Vega 8 cores.

Dell could be joining the list of OEMs looking to offer AMD 'Raven Ridge' aka Ryzen Mobile CPUs in upcoming notebooks, if the listing on benchmarking site SiSoft Sandra is any indication. The listing reports scores of a Dell Latitude 5495 notebook powered by the Ryzen 7 APU with onboard Vega graphics.

The latest BIOS release for the Asus mainboards that use the AMD B350 and X370 chipsets comes with a description that mentions "new upcoming processors" without naming them. However, it is almost certain that the update comes to accommodate a new wave of AMD desktop processors with integrated Vega graphics.

After years of financial struggles, AMD rises above and makes a comeback in 2017. Q3 2017 was the best in years, bringing US$1.64 billion in total revenues, of which US$71 million was the net income. This is very good news for AMD, since the company hasn't seen a positive net income for the past several years.
