The new QNAP TS-x77 NAS for business customers is powered by AMD Ryzen 5 1600 and AMD Ryzen 7 1700 processors and comes with 6, 8, or 12 bays. It runs the intelligent QTS 4.3 operating system and features up to 64 GB RAM.

Unveiled back in late May at COMPUTEX, the new TS-x77 series is advertised as the world's first AMD Ryzen and targets business customers. It comes with various hardware setups, starting with a 6-bay model that uses an AMD Ryzen 5 1600 processor and going up all the way to a 12-bay model that is powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 1700 processor.

These are the models that can be purchased starting today or in the coming weeks, depending on the market and retailer: TS-677-1600-8G, TS-877-1600-8G, TS-877-1700-16G, TS-1277-1600-8G, TS-1277-1700-16G, TS-1277-1700-64G. Although these model numbers may seem quite cryptic at first sight, they reveal the hardware specs in a direct manner. For example, the TS-877-1600-8G features 8 drive bays, an AMD Ryzen 5 1600 processor, and 8 GB of memory. The top-of-the-line TS-1277-1700-64G comes with no less than 64 GB RAM, an AMD Ryzen 7 1700 processor, and features 12 drive bays.

In addition to the main specs mentioned above, these pieces of hardware also feature support for a PCIe graphics card and two more PCIe devices such as 10GbE/40GbE NICs and NVMe SSDs, up to 64 GB RAM (for the models that do not come with that amount by default), two M.2 SATA slots for cache acceleration or high-performance storage pools, thus providing powerful yet flexible storage solutions for various business environments.

The new TS-x77 series also provide RAID 50/60 support for improved performance and enhanced data protection. Just as the other QNAP NAS products launched recently (and the older ones that got it as a free software upgrade), the TS-x77 comes with the intelligent QTS 4.3 operating system onboard. This software solution provides access to hundreds of apps that can be installed as needed to boost the functionality provided by the TS-x77 lineup.

As it usually happens with such products that target medium and large businesses, the details on the pricing and availability of the new TS-x77 series can be obtained directly from QNAP Systems or via the company's many local resellers.
